Worst possible design. Pretty? Sure. Functional? I will go somewhere else!
If you can't possibly work in functionality with form, stick with functionality. It's why people go to the get showtimes page in the first place. There is another page for browsing through current and hot movies. The duplication is confusing, not helpful. In case you haven't heard, the new "Overall Satisfaction" is "Level of Effort." Since people are going to this "find showtimes" page to... <hint>... FIND SHOWTIMES, that should be what's on that page. Instead, there are billboard ads for what I assume are the movies you are getting paid the most to display. So I'll give a shout out to those advertisers: This doesn't work because folks will go to the competitor's site where they can actually find showtimes for the movies they already have decided to go see.
Is it POSSIBLE for one to find the showtimes one came to this site to find? I will assume the answer is yes. I hope so, anyway. However, is one going to put EFFORT into figuring that out? No. It's so much easier for one to go to a competitor.
