Hi, please let us know how we can improve Groups further.

Major Glitch with Delete/remove/leave group Functions going on

Dear Yahoo! It appears there is a system wide glitch / bug that is affecting many delete functions in addition to the "remove member" "leave group" function.

Many have provided feedback individually. Can you consolidate this issue and votes and escalate it? Thank you for your hard work in providing us with a great product. We appreciate your prompt review of this issue.

There was a glitch in edge servers that were blocking certain type of requests from some IP addresses – this issue has been fixed. Marking this as completed.

Thank you for taking the time to gather all the similar posts to yours. I’ve gone ahead and merged those that clearly are the same issue (there are a couple that are too vague to confirm if it’s the same issue or not).

We have reported this issue to the engineers and they are looking into the cause and a potential fix. We’ll provide you with further updates once available.

Again, thank you for your feedback and all the details you took the time to provide!

Anonymous is confused. Put a checkmark on the member(s) you want to delete, select "Remove from group" from the Action menu. Simple.

Or, select "Remove members" and enter the email addresses of up to 100 members you want to remove in bulk. Not as simple.

Why is there no simple "delete member" function? Is Yahoo! still maintaining this software? If not, please announce that fact, and let us move to some other supported software.

So...if a member decides to leave Groups altogether (ie: no longer have an interest in Yahoo Group forums), said member is forced to click on all of the groups joined, and one by one, remove themselves?

This is tedious at best. The old way is much better, click a little box and delete as needed. No need to go to every individual group and un-join yourself. Too many dead forums outt here to click on every single one I've joined. How about making the UI simple to use again?

Interesting. I checked two (related) groups I moderate. One is a group of parents, one is a group of students. I can remove members on one group, but not the other.

It is the student group I can't remove members on. I wonder if it's because it's a restricted, educational group. (for minors).

Whatever the reason - it's still frustrating for the teacher/owner, and for the parent volunteer moderators.

I am still unable to transfer Ownership of a forum to one of the Moderators on the forum. Efforts to actually reach a person have failed. I'm getting nothing but the run-around when using Yahoo Help ... no way to actually Contact Customer Care.

Thank you for fixing that. I was able to delete some photos and a group that was no longer active... so thanks :)

I still can't delete photos in my albums - just select ones, not all of them have the option for delete. How about skipping the engineers and just bring back the old format that worked.

As a moderator of several groups, i have found that the new page look is difficult to work. One issue that we are having is that since the new page look came into effect, Our cover page pictures were all deleted and there is no way to put them back. There was, at the beginning a place to move your mouse over and click on to add a picture, but it did not work. The message kept saying that you need to be a moderator to change or put up a picture. Funny, I developed these groups and it says that I still need permission. I thought I was the moderator? Any suggestions?

I couldn't delete anything or anybody yesterday, but as of today (4 Jan) I can. So hopefully your group will soon follow, Cara.

As my co-moderator put it re another glitch thread:

It was probably the issue with the French group that made them shape up -
who wants to be subjected to the withering criticism by the French. :D

As of today, Jan. 4, 2014 the owner of our group, and the moderators such as myself can not delete a file, or a database. We can not delete a member. Please help us!!

I tried unsuccessfully to delete some members from several groups that I moderate.

Remove a group member is still not working for me & my groups.

I, too, can confirm that the Leave group and other email management functions appear to be working well now.

Yahoo, in the future, please could we have more updates and, importantly, an indication of when you think the problem might be resolved? For a communication company, your customer relations, in this case, could have been a lot better and the anger and frustration so easily avoided.

We were able to remove members today! Also the activity logs appear to be legible again.
        Thank you! Yahoo!.
Would be great to make those activity logs searchable now so they can really be useful as they were in the past.
