Disaster When Editing Database File
As a Yahoo Group owner/moderator of a particular group for many years, I "edited" an active Database file. It is my responsibility to keep Database files up-to-date. Members of this Group may not create nor edit any database file. Database files benefit ALL members of my Group.
Recently, I edited an important file and, after clicking "Save," I was denied access to this Database file. This Database file now reads: "Updated on Dec. 28, 1969. All members now see that same statement.
As a test, I made one simple change in an ordinarily less active Database file. After clicking "Save" the Database file also says "Updated on Dec. 28, 1969." Ridicules results!!
Please help to rectify. Thank you.
We’ve rolled out a revamped database experience and have enhanced how we handle accented characters. We’ve also increased limits on number of tables, columns and rows. Read more here:
Do check out the changes.
Marking this ideas as completed. If there are specific issues or feedback you have, kindly post it here on the feedback forum.
Sorry for the delay in responding to your idea. I’ve seen this reported on Answers and did file a bug with engineering to get it investigated and resolved. At this time they’ve stated it’s resolved for at least one customer but I am working to confirm it should be resolved for all customers.
If you or anyone receiving this email is still experiencing this issue, please post about it here:
We need your Group name and an explanation of the problem so we know what to look for. The more information you provide, the more our support staff will be able to assist!
Thank you for reporting this issue and for participating on our feedback forum!

I just spent over two hours updating a database and all of a sudden all of the entries disappeared and I can not access anything in the database. This appears at the top "Updated on Dec 31, 1969" The list of database tables shows there are entries there, but nothing appears when you try to open the database. Also when I try to edit the table it says I need to contact the moderator or owner. I am one of the moderators. I have no issues accessing the other tables in the group. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/cci-people
Some more requests of users, just not on the first page but should be considered too:
Still waiting for an answer on the corrupt databases, YAHOO you really need to fix this !

I am having the same problem with my group 'Kickempond'. I posted to a database 'Important Contacts for BI Property' and the contacts are no longer there and have the date of 12/28/69. Please fix. I need that database.
Why even act like you're fixing things? Every fix results in more problems. At least classic groups WORKED. You could post, search for specific things, post databases, update things...it ALL WORKED. Now everything is a fight. I hate it.
They need to fire Mayer and get someone who actually CARES about Yahoo.
The name of the Group is PulteParkMtSinai. The problem is in Database in which one of the files reads "Updated on Dec 31, 1969." As the owner/moderator, I entered the Database file to make changes. When I completed the changes and closed the file I could not go back in. Looks like data in this file is gone forever.
Very disappointing to say the least. All that work gone forever.
HEllo all yahoo groups moderators
We have the same problem in France, even worse.
French special characters such as é, è, ù, à, ç, etc, are converted to gibberish in the databases.
I have written several emails to yahoo client service in French and in English. All I have received is a cut and paste answer which didnt adress the real topic, then another one that we just should type without the French letters , then another one that this cannot be changed.
on our groups, the databases are now not only UNREADABLE, they cannot be modified at all.
We cannot erase the diamonds, squares and bizarre signs that have replaced the normal French characters. Each French character such as é, è, à, ç, ù etc, has been replaced by FOUR gibberish signes, so words are no longer recognizable.
With the loss of these databases, the common work of hundreds of parents of disabled children who gathered data to be shared by forum members is LOST !
We can no longer read the databases, we can no longer modify them, they are frozen in this unreadable state.
Where can I find another provider where I can found a new forum with files and databases that work?
Any help appreciated, we are several thousands of families of disabled children in France impacted by YAHOO NEO

Our group is also very large with active members. These members are so disgruntled with Yahoo Groups that suggestions have been brought up to create a community website outside of Yahoo. They say that advertisement help pay for private community websites. If Yahoo is not interested in our Groups then perhaps it's best to get out.
I own a group in which both members and myself are suddenly finding that we can’t open documents in our Files section. I've spent many HOURS trying to contact someone about this and got absolutely NOWHERE!
You make a huge song and dance about how you're there to help us all, but all your help procedures go round in never-ending circles and it's impossible to get answers that are appropriate to our needs, let alone talk to an actual human being.
When I click on your "Get Help" links, this takes me round in yet more circles, and the same with "Contact Customer Care", which leads to more interminable pages of stuff that doesn't deal with my problem.
This is actually all LIES and DECEIT because your whole "Customer Care" system is clearly set up to prevent us from ever getting through to you!
If I didn't have such a large group with a huge archive of material that many people depend on, I'd ditch it and go to Facebook who are nowhere near as elusive as you have become!
Why is it that Yahoo Team members are ignoring this message??

Mittens 4 Akkol cannot delete unused databases. Please let us know how to do this. We have new databases to add.

I am very frustrated with the database function since Yahoo has made changes:
I cannot delete old databases.
I can no longer add a new database.
I am now getting "an error occurred when loading the database" message.
I cannot change the parameters of a database as to who else can edit, etc. once it has been set so if I forget, that database is useless and cannot be deleted.
When editing, everything gets jumbled out of the proper numerical order making it confusing to find a particular entry.
Please tell me that these problems are being addressed as I see others are also experiencing some of the same things.
When trying to delete a bad Database file, a message pops up: "Sorry, an error occurred while loading the content." This has been going on for at least a week.
When giving the command to print a Database file, everything is out of alphabetical order.
Database remains a disaster.

having the same problems, can't delete or edit anything beginning to get very mad with all these changes and yahoo still not fixing the problems in the 1st place.
Don't like the table format either too small can't read address or themes to sign up with either, sad that Yahoo are not listing to anyone really

Our Ham radio group has used y=the Yahoo! Groups Database Table for years to schedule on air activities. The current database table is useless as we can not add, edit, or delete entries. We are looking for an alternative until this gets fixed.

When I edit the database all of the dates get jumbled. It was much better before.
I've been a member of this Yahoo Group for eight years and it was always great. Photo section better than ever. However, database a real mess. And now I have no access to the most important database file. Please correct as soon as possible.

As a member of this group, I have used and relied on this data to be available to me for the past seven years..
This is not an inconvenience, it is a disaster.
Please make this a priority and fix it.
Thank you, Jim
