How come classified files exchanged through messages in a private groups are easily accessible and downloadable via Google??
I found out that anyone can download a classified file sent as attachment of a message of our PRIVATE group by searching some of its content via Google!!
Yahoogroups was suposed to keep our files saved. Instead, it keeps a copy of the file at xa.yimg.com and anyone can access the file.
The link distributed in lieu of an attachment in an email is accessible without signing in, this is by design - it allows email only members (those without Yahoo accounts) to receive the attachments.
That said, they should not be found in a search engine unless a) the group's messages are open to non-members, or b) a member received the link and posted it (or the message containing it) on a public board somewhere.
An attachment link cannot be used to find other attachments, nor to access the group pages, just that attachment.
