New and improved email? What a joke...
This new and improved email, updated Dec. 5th, 2018 is a joke. Firstly, it's ugly. The themes/colors to choose from are lame, this new email won't retain any of the settings I choose. I want to open my email with the messages in the middle expanded to the right all the time. But when I expand the middle window to the right, every email I open is back to the way it was. I want to be able to expand that middle message window to the right and have it stay that way. I don't need/want that column on the right, let me make it go away.
New email version SUCKS!!!
Totally agree. I don't need the extra panel and I am refusing to change to the new format so Yahoo harasses me with a box that pops up every time I open my email. I don't want to change. AGAIN!

I agree...ugly. And not easy to visually navigate. I don't like not being able to set how many messages show on a screen...why force users to have to do more key clicks than should be necessary, for one thing? I can't find where I adjust the screen view options...sucks, it does.
To Anonymous (May 19, 2019): I didn't lose anything when I switched back to Classic. All my contacts were still there, as were my folders and the saved emails in each folder. The only thing I lost was for my email to automatically get new messages, I have to do that manually now. One nice thing I regained was "Printable View" which the "New and Improved" email removed.
I've read all the comments on this subject and agree with all of them. It seems like the "updates" have taken Yahoo Mail back to the stone age. I would have gone back to Classic mail if I hadn't read that I would lose everything.

Whoever designed the new email needs fired. Def hard to see whats going on compared to classic

Aside from the horrible UI and reduction of features, it's an absolute performance DOG. Deletes take more than a second and I'm on a screaming fast, brand new Macbook Pro with gigabit broadband. Yahoo mails frequently craters my Chrome browser, causing me to force quit in order to revive it.
Good lord. Thank goodness I found the secret path back to classic.
Yahoo, you're a mess.

I agree - the new mail sucks and is a joke. Yahoo needs to stop screwing with what works. Maybe if the morons that run Yahoo quit making dumb decisions, they wouldn't have "innovated" their company out of business.

Agreed. Multiple problems with email, and problems that are email features:
1) only part of the contacts transferred over
2) can no longer type a name and have the addressee's email address populate
3) when clicking on the "to" line to list my contacts, it ALWAYS offers 3 to 5 "related contacts" that have absolutely nothing to do with the person I am sending to
4) contacts that have been deleted are showing up again in my contacts list.
Basically, nothing works in addressing the way it should.
PLEASE GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION. At least it worked!
New Yahoo is awful from the choice of colors to the options which don't work. Photos from 2017 can be seen but not from 2018.
Very limited choice of color theme.
Why the need to place the delete icon by itself on the far right and not between the sender column and the message as it was before? You have to swing back and forth from right to left.
Changes should be EXCITING and TO IMPROVE. Not to cause frustration
Gmail is going to love your stupid, offputting decisions. Why not change the name of AOL to ALO, just to make it fresh? Who is getting paid to lose users?

Please keep yahoo classic. I want to stay with yahoo and the new mail is not as good. I tried it and I don't want to have to switch away from yahoo.

AS all the others have said, why in **** can't you leave it the way it was.Twice before you switched me and I HATED everything about it.The last time you did it you manged to lose a very important
email that my brother sent before he passed away.I'm STILL ******! I don't like being forced to
do anything, therefore I'll probably go elsewhere and blackball you every step of the way.

The best (read as worst) thing is, it's being forced on us from the end of Jan. I've tried switching to it twice and straight back as it's lost a feature whereby the Folder list used to show the number of unread email at the top of the list, so it was easy to see if emails had been received where rules pushed them to other folders. In the new version, you don't get this so need to scroll through the folder list checking. The folder list itself doesn't sort as it used to, I had hyphens in front of folders and numbers to push them to the top of the list, but the hyphens are ignored now, so folders like "-maj**" are stuck under M. These are two things that I rely on, I haven't even tried using it for mail yet, as others have said, it doesn't look good. Just keep the classic version, or if you had to rewrite it for tech issues, just make it the same.

KD5 is correct, the format is lame and the choices an abomination. One wonders who came up with the "themes", it begs the question what were they thinking. May I propose that some high schoolers could come up with a more appealing interface.

I'm stuck with ugly purple. I wanted a plain black color.
Figured out how to switch back to the Classic Mail interface. I have no interest in this "new and improved" mail iteration (as of 12-05-2018). It's ugly and it's NOT user-friendly.
