All apostrophes are being converted to "'" in my messages when sent out.
All of the apostrophes are being converted to "'" in my messages. Others are having this problem too (many other posts on the net about this issue). It just started happening. Please check this out and fix it. Also, I couldn't find anywhere else to report this. A specific reporting phone number or"hotline" link for errors or bugs would be good.
If you type an apostrophy it comes out looking garbled with other characters.
This was never an issue until about a month or so ago.
Yahoo is now using the words apos instead of actually using an apostrophy as in I've. Shows I%apos. Whats with that. New email system sucks. Also, how do I get a theme off my email when I prefer it plain white?
The "apos" problem with the apostrophes is frustrating. I have spoke to yahoo cust. serv. and it seems like nobody cares. Just my opinion!
Why don't you get rid of the ' in place of apostrophes?
I have had problem w/ apostrophe (appears as "'" in all incoming and outgoing email) for a month. I called customer service. They could not help and told me to email problem which i did - three times! No response from yahoo. I tried calling customer service again & after waiting a long period of time the system hung up on me - many times! HELP!!!
bring back the old mail....my inbox is cluttered with watermarked text. I hate the conversation cloud style.
Happening the last couple of weeks. I compose an email with an apostrophe in it. After sending then I see the text changed. Example where I typed "I've':
I've read that food and alcohol in Sydney is extremely expensive.
Apostrophes haven't worked for a long time now in Yahoo Mail i.e... "I haven't heard back"
The apostrophe no longer works, instead, in the middle of a word where an apostrophe is used you get: ' so simple words such as I'm, I've, don't, didn't, read as I'm, I''ve, Don't, Didn't. It is utter garbage. It looks fine when you type it but the recipient cannot decipher what the **** the email is supposed to say. Fix it please, as soon as possible. Why should I have the inconvenience of getting a new email account and have to contact all businesses, friends, family to register a new email account?
Apostrophies not coming across correctly anymore - not look like this:
Fix this problem please...Instead of an apostrophe ( ' ), I am getting this ( ' ). How do I fix this?
Apostrophe is automatically being replaced with ['] in my replies to incoming emails and when I forward my own emails. I have done nothing different recently except to begin using iPhone.
Get rid of the #apos instead of putting in an apostrophe in text. I am getting it in both sending text and receiving it.
Recently when I send an email or receive an email, it has &apos added into it. I googled what this meant....a piece of ****....it is showing up randomly when I send...I am not typing this.....and when I receive mail from others, I am getting the same thing....they are not sending it to me....How do I stop this? Is it a bug? Hacker?
Why is this happening? didn' Every apostrophe I put in my email looks like that with the punctuation replaced by &apos. WHY. Stop changing things that are not broken. Are you trying to make things worse for us. Not that you're going to care what I write. First you had to change the boards to this format then you changed our email to the same, hard to read and difficult to navigate format. Obviously you do not care about customer satisfaction. Bring back the old email.
Apostrophes appear as "haven't" vs. "haven't" in sent/rcvd email messages. Please fix it.
Apostrophes appear as: ' WHY???????????
When I use the ' " key, the e-mail gets sent out with ' in place of the ' or ". Any thoughts?
Words with apostrophe's are coming out as "isn't" in composed emails
Also there are numerous errors when sending/receiving messages.
It looks like the wrong keys are hit but when I double check my messages they look fine before I send them. Once sent and re read there are errors in words ( i.e. "'t" - is always the errror in the word). Yahoo has become soo slow that while I am typing the full word takes a second to show up on the screen. The Ads freeze up the screen so often I am constantly receiving error messages.
Non functional. The worst part is that people are not receiving the messages I'm sending, especially if I include a link. I will have to change -mail providers for the first time in 15 years if this problem isnot addressed. Messages come through garbled, with "&apos" instead of apostrophes. Page also tends to reload multiple times and crash often.
URL LINKS in Signiture are messed up
My signature is messed up when I compose a message
In my settings the signature uses
When I compose a message my signature display every forward slash in the link to / so people receive a useless link that looks like this example:
For about 1 week, my emails to and from "real" people have the following inserted wherever there is an apostrophe: '
It doesn't matter is the word is it's, wouldn't, just anything with an apostrophe. It ends up looking like it&apos:s or wouldn''t. Please see what could be causing this. Thank you.
Are you aware that instread of an apostrophe, one gets "'" and the site is sooooo slow. September 8, 2013
There are errors of: "&apos" appearing in my emails and I wonder why this is occurring????
I've tried filling out the Customer Care form but it doesn't let me get any further than "select" this or that. Please can you either supply me with an email address that I can use to contact a member of your staff, or tell me why the apostrophe [ ' ] doesn't display properly when I view my "sent" mails. Thanks.
fix the bug in your editor causing ' to come out as ('s) it makes all emails hyrogliphics requiring interpretation. I only discovered recently when I checked a sent email.
I hate new yahoo.mail I was forced to swith to in June 2013. After 13 years I am likely to swith to gmail or hotmail. this sucks.
Great news! Our engineering team informed us this problem has been resolved. We all are extremely thankful for your patience while we tracked this down and fixed it.
We are also extremely thankful for everyone who took the time to let us know about this problem! Your help really helped us in our investigation. Thank you!
The problem with apostrophes is back and needs to be addressed ASAP! Thanks.
The new version is virtually unresponsive with dial-up.. without options to anything else that work either.
Your new mail page really stinks !! PLEASE give back the old page !!!!!! If you continue to go backwards, I want gmail.
What a mess this new version is - certainly few improvements. I reiterate 'Anonymous' below. Please tidy the system up!
Thanks for the acknowlegement. BUT as I scroll down I can see how frustrated fellow subcribers are. Rather than add my name to the various similar problems that I'm also experiencing, I just want to ask- how long are all of us to wait before Yahoo puts things back the way they were? It's mind boggeling that in this hightech age that Yahoo could even allow this to happen and is taking a long time to remedy.I have to also consider changing to Gmail.

This change is very, very much dispised. It is an insult to me to change my surname. My sur name of O"Connor has been spelled that way for almost 2oo years that I can document.

Whoo, I have my apostrophes back!!
Although I am able to open PDF documents sent as attachments (it takes forever now), I am unable to print the documents. It gets superimposed on top of my e-mail page! This is ridiculous. I did not have any problems with the old yahoo. I am planning to change my e-mail address with all of this carry on. I can no longer even OPEN a photo sent to me as an attachment!
john train commented
What has happened to the "SAVE DRAFT" tab when you're composing and not ready to send????????
john train commented
thanks for fixing the apostrophe problem. My latest problem is the way you've (again) messed up the CONTACT LIST. The "search option" at the top of the list is not working.....so the only way to get to the contact you're looking for is by scrolling down.
Why don't you all ever leave well enuf alone?!!!
Well, we'll see whether it has actually been fixed. In the meantime another problem has surfaced with my Yahoo account. I can't open PDF documents contained in Yahoo messages on my laptop that runs Window 7. The old laptop with Windows XP does open them without any issues. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? Very exasperating!!
and another thing with my inbox, now when i reply to someone, instead of after sending the message going back to my inbox, i have to click on a box to go back to the person's msg first and then click on my inbox which i never had to do. i don't know what is wrong with yahoo but i am just about fed up and ready to move to gmail. this all started 10/1 and i have no idea why but the issue seem to keep changing from one thing to another.
Well thanks for that but i have been noticing changes and glitches in other ways since 10/1 and now when i compose a new email to someone, instead of me being able to type in the first few letters of a name and then it appearing in the TO box, i now have to go into my contacts, click and insert the email address or just manually type in the whole thing. i have no idea why this is happening all of the sudden but it is 10 times more annoying than the apos issue
Yahoo's attitude i.e. "those of you who have been able to follow instructions correctly to communicate to us" is SO CONDESCENDING!!! As another poster commented..."Wow - that is rude". I agree. Now that the apostrophe problem is solved, PLEASE RETURN THE "SEND" TAB TO THE TOP TASKBAR!!! In fact, put it all back the way it was before all the surprise changes.
NOT working for me. Apostrophes in subjects and text are OK on the group site, whether posted on the group or via email. But the message that is delivered to my gmail address again has: "test" instead of "test" in the subject line.
When was it resolved? As of yesterday, I still received email with "'" in my message when people replied to it.
Thank you very much to those of you who have been able to follow instructions correctly to communicate to us the valuable feedback we need to properly investigate this issue."
Wow-that is rude
thank you so much! It was annoying to say the least! Phil
It is not a browser problem. I am using Firefox 24 and this error still occurs. Please fix. Thanks.
When are you going to get the apostrophe problem rectified. It's an incredibly annoying "'". I have resisted switching but this may the thing that does it. It's not a browser issue.
