I AM A DISABLED VETERAN WHO WANTS TO INCLUDE A FLAG OR SERVICE LOGO BACKGROUND TO MY COMPOSING. THIS PLAIN, BORING NOTHING BACKGROUND IS UNACCEPTABLE.

The Stationery feature from previous versions of Yahoo Mail is no longer available. We’re always working to improve Yahoo Mail and want to hear from you about the changes you're seeing.

They are always working to "improve" Yahoo Mail by screwing it up and taking away features. Nice, Yahoo. If I didn't already have a few hundred professional and personal contacts with my Yahoo email on file, I would jump ship. What fools you are.

i do not like the new changes it will not let me open my emails until i click on it three or four times then a link will pop up and ask if you want to load the basic email and this is just crazy to go thru all of that just to open ones email ugh please bring back the other version haven't people been told if its not broke then do not fix it

It is really weird after the change. After improvement it should be user friendly but it is not.
Earlier we could go to the last msg with just a click and similarly to the first message. But we cannot now why. I want to use the old version....

Thank you for your services, I have been with a Yahoo customer/member since 1996 maybe earlier and have really enjoyed your style.
Yahoo was the first means/experiences of e-mail communication between me and my wife and kids when traveling out of country or state.
It was an exciting and a wonderful way of communicating with my family when deployed overseas.
It made our life tolerable, and Yahoo has always been our way of communicating. All my kids are growing and I have set up accounts for them to continue to e-mail.
You have made some awesome leaps and bounds in the e-mail industry and I truly appreciate that.
However this last change to the e-mail has really been very challenging for us.
It has made it very difficult and confusing when sending out e-mails.
Therefore I request, that if you can somehow switch me back to the older Outlook version you had prior to this new style? It would truly simplify our method of communication.

        Sincerely,
        Jaime Garza

Also, there is basically no way to contact customer service. Today the link is not working......

It does not matter if you can change the background on the screeen on which your own mail appears. What would be nice would be having the ability to add a background design or photo to emails that one is sending. That way you can send a nice image if you are wishing someone a happy birthday, happy anniversary, get well, happy holidays, etc. I have also considered dropping yahoo mail for this and other reasons. You used to provide the ability to put images, designs, photos, etc, as background in emails. Will you be providing this in the future? If so, when?

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Your "new updated" version of Yahoo Mail really sucks. I would drop it in a heartbeat but it is associated with my e-mail account on my web server and I don't want to give up my "old" address..

I am not happy with Yahoo changes and all the time wasting changes that don't make my Yahoo experience better! Let's compare what you do to my business?
I design bicycles, really good ones. I spend years to design for my customers which are people/users. Now I have a great success with many users who love my bike design. Next I ignore them and place a new design on the market which
very few new users like. Now I decide to stop supporting my 1st bicycle design with no parts available. Then I tell my loyal customers to ride the new bike they don't like. What's the result? My self proclaimed pride and I know better than my
Customer attitude just helped my competition. I killed my company also. Hey Yahoo does this compute. Wall Street and a few out of touch programmers do not know better than your own customers! Get rid of the dummies and wake up!
Roll this mess back or your mis guided pride will end your self proclaimed reign as the king of Email....appease the masses we are your business and we don't need you.... You need us and the longer you wait the more you lose us!

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

This typical of your arbitrary attitude: I wanted to add my vote to the the First ranked comment, but you don't accept any votes on that anymore! I use Yahoo Basic but now it does not have any useful stationery anymore. Instead I have a toolbar which I do not want and never use.

      • Annie KatzmanAnnie Katzman commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

NO one likes the new format..... go back to the same ol' simple and useful basic email otherwise I (and many many others) will have to find another email system elsewhere. I see no point in keeping this account open
if I can't read the email sitting there waiting, or even download your new "basic email".
Yahoo email has become totally useless. You've cut your own throat.

I'm in IE8 on an XP Home PC with SP3 added.

        Hmmm,,,, let's see now.

OK, I do see a wee arrow thing over on the left folder tree, next to a label called 'Folders', and when I click it, my custom folders appear or vanish, just below the main folders, much like they were before.

And the new version of the TABs view finally seems to be remembered when I log out and back in.

And the system is not prompting me to choose a theme anymore and then forgetting it on a screen refresh or a logout and back in..

And it stopped pestering me to 'upgrade' my browser, which was fine as it was, and I never did (cannot go above IE8 on XP anyway, which itself is a blessing in disguise).

All that is left is to restore the Stationery, and to raise the compose box controls up off the message box floor, back to where they belong.

And oh yes, kill any remaining bugs.

THEN, we'll essentially be back to the pre Oct 8th 2013 functionality, and Queen Marissa will have saved face, because she did not take our early advice to simply roll it all back right then.

So I changed nothing ay MY end during all of this torture since 2013-10-08 (except my pain meds, hehehe, and to use IE Compatibility view for as long as it lasted), and Yahoo has now almost finished the baking of their own birthday cake, and it might well be lucky for them that they got it this far before their GOOSE was cooked !

I will try out this latest flavour for a bit, but my lengthy and thorough research of other WebMail providers beginning before last July (when they killed Classic Mail with SOME advance warning) has opened my eyes to what ELSE is out there, and I have still got accounts with most of these other providers.

Chances are I will complete my move to one of them soon, and close my Yahoo accounts, because as I see it....

The aggravation known as Yahoo is JUST NOT WORTH IT !

And at the same time, Queen Marissa's new job beckons.

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I agree with Marta "The mail EDITION BUTTONS (font type, size, colour, bold, underline etc. should be at the TOP of the compose mail, near where one is writing, not at the bottom. At the bottom it is very un-practical. The same goes for the SEND button." I thought that the new version got rid of these features (bold, underline, emotions, etc) and did not know that these existed until I just read this now - 2 months after Yahoo updated it and kept switching back to the old version yet I couldn't see some of the pictures attached to my emails. Yahoo should have sent an email indicating that this are now located at the bottom along with the procedures for disabling the conversation threads!!! If you make major changes advise your customers where they can find their tools and how to disable multiple conversations so that you see only the new ones coming in - saves time and frustration on the part of your customers. I was going to switch to a new email company!!
