Why on earth do you not ALLOW SEARCH to SEARCH THE SPAM FOLDER..!??
Everyone knows that some appropriate, desired emails (often FROM PEOPLE IN OUR CONTACT LISTS!) get into the Spam folder by mistake (even though the filter does a very good job overall).
The lack of ability to SEARCH the Spam folder is RIDICULOUS!-- and how long has it been this way.? -- FOREVER!!
WHEN you add this obvious ability, is there a way that you can make wanted emails easier to find.?? (rather than having to search a specific person or organisation): e.g., have search modifier buttons, such as "search spam for emails that have more than 'x' number of characters" in them (as much spam is very short); perhaps 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 characters etc. Also, search emails from dot.org. Obviously search emails with certain keywords or senders.
All of a sudden automatic payments from my bank are in SPAM w/ 100s of other messages. When you search "Mail" for sender name or email not searching SPAM. So I thought I would search SPAM by sender and just find them all and move them to inbox. There is no sort on sender in any folder. This is basic web design. Yahoo used to have decent mail capabilities like this. Wish it was easier to switch all my senders contact info. As it seems others have asked for basic stuff like this and they don't do it. This is not optional. I will change my back to email me to non-Yahoo account. If they don't fix this I wil change the rest of my accounts.
i want to search only in the spam folder. the advanced search does not allow me to pick spam folder in the dropdown
Sometimes looking for a mail that might be lost in spam, a search function would be very beneficial!!
Allow searching in Spam Folder
Need a search in the Spain folder if my important emails keep going to Spam, or maybe the filter options that exist should work.
Having hundreds or thousands of properly tagged spam makes it very tough to find the improperly tagged emails that shouldn't have been marked as spam. Like trying find a needle in a haystack, scrolling line by line through a thousand messages on the mobile client for Android is very error prone. If a user knows some detail of the email they were expecting, and it got improperly tagged, a search through the spam folder could make lives much better. Perhaps a separate check box to include the spam folder, would be helpful. Even the search configuration doesn't list the spam folder as a selectable search target. Thanks for the opportunity to offer feedback/suggestions!
Why is there no way to search inside my spam folder? I have about a thousand messages in there. Pretty ridiculous to expect me to scroll through that, checking every single sender or subject line, to find a single message that didn't make it to my inbox sometime within the last three weeks. Please fix this!
I cannot search in the spam mail box
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate hearing your comments!
Since the DELETE SPAM OLDER THAN... setting is broken, all the more reason to be able to search the spam folder for false positives!
It's easy to empty the spam folder, but I only want to do that after I know for sure it's all garbage.
I can only surmise that Yahoo would rather spend the money purchasing, powering, and backing up all the storage required to retain so much spam. Perhaps if the site were cheaper to run, it could be less ad-intensive, attract more users, and thus more advertising targets, and pull in more revenue.
Can't agree more, it is crazy that I can't search in the Spam folder. It is one of the folders that are most needed to search.
They wont add it because this way they can "block" confirmation emails from companies they compete with.

Totally agree - searching the spam folder should be one of the options in the dropdown list
follow up. mail won't let me delete a folder with emails in it. there is no easy way to empty the mostlikelyspam folder, but there is a one button push to label them read, so its easy to mark old most likely spam and dead.
I've figured out a workaround !!! well its a 99.999% solution at least.
1) make a new folder lets call it mostlikelyspam
2) in options -> settings -> filter as the very last filter (filters work in the order they are listed) make a new filter that moves any email where the "to" field has the character "." to the the folder mostlikelyspam
3) save the new filters.
in this way all of your emails will follow the filters as normal and as long as any email has at least a dot in it (or some other character from your legitimate email address) i will be in the replacement to the spam folder. This new folder is now searchable. emptying it will be a bit difficult by I bet you can delete it and recreate it to do that.

Wait a minute people. Why on earth would you want to search your spam folder?? The Yahoo! spam filter is flawless and only filters mail that it knows you will never ever need.
ppp I agree ... please give us search in spam folder. ddd No spam selection logic is ever likely to be perfect. Even the most elegant spam selection tool is going to make mistakes and non-spam is going to end up in spam folders. A solution for reliably searching the spam folder is an extremely valuable tool to help users mitigate that problem when it does occur. Please implement a solution for search in spam folder. (I definitely do not envy the folks who have to read all these hostile messages ... assuming anyone does. I have a pretty bad temper and for sure I have called Yahoo! Mail and every other IT product under the sun some horrible names in the privacy of my own mind and home. But this is supposed to be the place where we suggest improvement ... folks, maybe some time spent at a punching bag will help you vent steam a lot better than posting some grumpy text here. How often do you pay attention to someone's suggestion when they just finished calling you incompetent?)
"ecause the programmers are incompetent." that can't be it. you used to be able to search the spam folder,
The reason they do not include this is because the programmers are incompetent. How else can you explain why yahoo mail is bad and getting worse, not better.
This is by far the worst "feature" ! This combined with the crappiest ever SPAM engine (selects messages that are coming from emails in the Contact folder), renders Yahoo! Mail almost un-useable !
FIX THIS ASAP !!!
Every day Yahoo! is putting valid e-mail into my spam folder. I have to go through it at least three times daily because important e-mail and paid subscriptions are going to disappear. I also requested that you NEVER clear out my spam folder no matter how many pieces are in it and you don't seem to give a hoot. This is costing me money.
Yahoo Mail used to have this feature, for some reason it's been removed. Like everything else, useful features always get removed from new versions.
the real issue is false positives on spam, if someone says they emailed me, I don't get it god forbid I want to check my spam folder to see if it ended up in there. I get close to 2000 spam emails a day with the word "diet" or "viagra" in it.
I think this is a critical feature. If you accidentally send something to spam good luck finding it. Also, it is way to easy to mark mail as spam on the mobile app which is the real reason I was here, but I guess I can support this effort as well.
this is critical. I'm almost ready to abandon the spam folder because of this.

Oh, and Yahoo: THE "LIKE" BUTTON ISN'T WORKING HERE: Can't see the whole comment box, so no 'send'/'done' button available. Yeesh

Vote for my search spam too, the more of these there are, the better our chances.
Once an email landed in the spam folder, it's very difficult to find it. Being able to search spam folder is one of the features missing in the new Yahoo mail, please restore it.
