A one click function to block email address

It should be easy to block email address. I don't know why this has not been implemented. Do you guys make money from it?

I don't want to have to go into settings. It's true spammers can just generate new email addresses, but at least that makes it slightly harder for them. And also an option to block their host.

How do I block unwanted sexually explicit email? How do I stop all spam? I also do not want to have ads for Viagra or anything else. I just want my email from my contacts. I do not want my grand children to see some of the stuff that people put online. What happen to making the internet child friendly. I people want to "Hook up" they can go to a bar and not tell the world about it.

so disappointed in Yahoo. This was my first email address and I loved. But now it is sending spam to my inbox on my phone and the user interface on a PC is horrendous.
Sadly, Yahoo has gone downhill - way downhill - from their heyday in the 90's. It is simply laughable now. I'm going to delete this account and notify my contacts of a new email address on gmail.

I have attempted to block emails before (junk and otherwise); no luck. Also, those of you who believe yahoo is behind all the spam emails, no worries, you are not alone, nor are you paranoid. The evidence certainly supports our conclusion.

One of the GREAT things about gmail is that you can hide your spam folder. So, even if there is no way to control the incoming garbage, you are not visually exposed to the ocular assault that is called 1000 spam emails a day. I can only imagine that, at one point, yahoo will go under, as they lag behind all other email providers in this area, and judging by the number of comments here, unless they remedy the situation, yahoo will be no more.

A lot of blocked addresses I have listed are still coming through. It is VERY frustrating! Fix it.

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Yahoo was my first email account that I got back in the early 90's. Now I am seriously thinking of shutting it down and leaving it completely because spam will not be blocked. Other mail service providers do a much better job of filtering spam and it is much more enjoyable to use my gmail accounts. Has anyone received a response from Yahoo about their inability to block spam?

This is ridiculous. 405 Spam emails in 2 weeks. I block them and low and behold there is another one with the same prefix and a different @. I am paying to block ADs - are you going to start charging to block SPAM too? What is the deal Yahoo????? I have no idea how my email got on these lists - this has never happened to me before. PLEASE YAHOO - HELP !!!!!!!!

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I totally agree that something more needs to be done to help eliminate the disgusting, vulgar spam e-mails that are received. At least on Facebook you can report totally inappropriate things being stated or inappropriate pictures. Yahoo....get with the requests of your clients.

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Yahoo is clearly getting paid on these. I've come across several spam addresses that I have confirmed that I had previously gone through the trouble of blocking and yet they still get through. When I go to re-enter the name it says, "The email address to block is invalid." This is apparently code for, "We can't block this address because they paid us to let them spam you constantly so, f-you."

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Apparently we are all getting slammed with excessive amounts of SPAM this year. What is Yahoo doing about it and what purpose do these forums serve if Yahoo isn't reading them and acting upon them?

      • ArbokArbok commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Please, make a function with wich we can completly block receiving mails from someone, because the alternative: sending the mails directly to spam folder isn't enough...it is filling the spam folder.

Make function to block completly receiving mails from someone or somewhat, because some sites gave mail adresses to some third party sites and that is annoying. And I want to have the posibility to completly block receiving mails from them, not to send them everytime to spam.

Yahoo is reading this, our demands, or not?

      • ArbokArbok commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

email's blocking system is worthless... "thanks" yahoo for hundreds of spams.

        Yahoo is sleeping.

      • AnonymousAnonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

It is possible to block all emails from a particular domain. Set up a filter directing messages from that domain to be sent to your Spam folder.

      • JaniceJanice commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

This receiving Spam is getting out of hand ... in the past six weeks I've have blocked over 240 of the 500 blocks allowable. The * feature of blocking does not work. Seems funny that the same company or persons can use so many different versions of email addresses.

      • IrritatedIrritated commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I assume most of Yahoo's income is generated from enabling spammers. Seems most of it originates from yahoo accounts, and it would take almost ZERO effort to stop it. For instance, limit outgoing mailings to a reasonable rate by day/hour/minute/second, and limit new addresses even more. Why is the ability to hide originating address (and display a pseudonym) even available $$$

Congratulations, this morning I had received 100 **** type emails, that is not including my normal junk emails. That is just in the mornings, average sending 1 email a month to my sister and never, ever go to any of those other sites. My Hotmail email account, which I use all of the time for other than personal is averaging about 6 TOTAL junk emails all day, how come?
