The Yahoo product feedback forum now requires a valid Yahoo ID and password to participate.

You are now required to sign-in using your Yahoo email account in order to provide us with feedback and to submit votes and comments to existing ideas. If you do not have a Yahoo ID or the password to your Yahoo ID, please sign-up for a new account.

If you have a valid Yahoo ID and password, follow these steps if you would like to remove your posts, comments, votes, and/or profile from the Yahoo product feedback forum.

Let us know how we can improve.

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  2. Remove the "remind me later" option when asking users for a phone number, instead put "never ever ever ask me again" as a new option

Remove or replace or add a new option instead of the "remind me later" option when asking a user for a phone number? If a user does not want to give you their phone number, why would they want you to ask them again later? Its counter-intuitive and down right stupid. Add the option "never ask me again" and "I dont have a cellphone". Why do you need our phone number that badly? We all know its not for account recovery, you just wish to have our cell phone numbers as data in your system, obvious data theft is obvious....

  3. Requiring a mobile telephone for all Yahoo users.

Yahoo! seems to have implemented their modern version of "Don't trust anyone over thirty". The over-the-hill crowd is being discriminated against with this change, as are the underprivileged who cannot afford mobile phone subscriptions. The hardware might be "free" with a multi-year, draconian, binding agreement, but said multi-year contractual service is NOT FREE.

Many people whose eyesight needs correction do not like, and do not use mobile phones for anything other than talking to people. Many people use Jitterbug or eschew cellphones entirely.

Yahoo! has decided that it wants to exclude all the aforementioned people from access to Yahoo! Groups.…

Yahoo has been reviewing ways to improve the security of our member accounts, eliminate abuse and reduce the time needed to recover a password. Mobile is a secure way to solve all 3 of these issues.

We will never use mobile numbers for anything other than verification purposes and share this personal data with other companies.

We’re currently testing our registration page and will provide updates.

  4. The new sign in screen is not efficient.

You have changed the sign in process so that a username is typed in, the sign in button is clicked, the password is then typed in, and the sign in button pressed again. This involves two clicks instead of the usual one that occurred previously when the username and password blanks were on the same screen. Separating these forces the user to click twice which is not efficient for users. The process is redundant and wastes time.

  5. Please remove the restrictions on your password policy

I was just forced to change my password, and was told the password I use for sites like Yahoo doesn't meet you complexity requirements. I have news for you- people don't have unique passwords for the 75 sites we have accounts on. I have different levels of secure passwords depending on how important the info on that site it. For me, the worst somebody could do is mess up my fantasy pool.

I am not going to use a password I use for important sites, and I'm not going to come up with a unique one for Yahoo.

  6. Please at least add a "not specified" option for gender when creating an account.

I just created a new yahoo account, and was disappointed when it forced me to list my gender, but the only options were male or female. Many people, myself included, are not simply male or female. Please respect trans and genderqueer people by at least letting us not specify instead of claiming a gender that we aren't. Thank you.

  9. My access blocked when I went abroad

I went 2 weeks abroad and Yahoo Mail "told me" that as I have never login from that places, to be sure it was me who was loggin in, it will send me a code to my alternative mail, but it never arrives the code !
So, I missed all the backuped data I have in the mail for the trip and I had to open a Gmail Account, that I could open in 2 different countries without any issue.
Suggestion -> Like VISA you need to add a place where to tell Yahoo in advanced that mail's owner will…

  11. Forcing people to change their passwords, but also storing previous passwords for live comparison, has to be a secuity oversight!

Once again, I've been forced to change my password for no reason. If you detect suspicious activity on an account the first thing you should do is present a log of that activity to the account holder (after verification), and then give them the option of changing their password if they so wish. Further, storing previous passwords so that users can't use a similar one again has to be the daftest idea I've ever come across, and represents a significant security flaw in that it allows you to analyse and identify patterns of behaviour. If changing your main email address…

  13. I want an option to NEVER, be automatically logged out of my account.

I want an option to NEVER, and I mean NEVER, be automatically logged out of my account. If I choose to be logged out, I will do so manually. I should be able to go straight to my account without the hassle of logging in just because your system thinks I should.
Also, your help section is in dire need of an upgrade. The bottom of every page should have a "contact customer care" link with an *email address* that works. I do not want to have to call someone and be put on hold, I do not want to…

  14. When I request my on-demand password why is my phone number visible? please *** out some of it.

Why is it when I request my on-demand password my phone number is visible? I know what my phone number is.. If someone was trying to hack my email they would see my phone number.. I don't like this. The phone number should at least be covered up some how. where someone that is not me would not see it.

  15. The log out button is a pain in the ***. I usually wind up checking my profile instead.

Make the log out button separate from all the other ones. I really don't ever need to check my own profile, so I can't understand why it's even connected to a button I use multiple times a day. The old log button off by itself was just fine and had no issues. I'm not sure why it needed to buried and needing two operations to make it work instead of one. It's a pain waiting for the drop-down menu to come up after getting back on the mail page just to log off.

  16. Let people take email addresses with 3 characters after the dot like john.doe@yahoo.com

When someone tries to register a new email address, there's a limitation -> you have to have more than 3 characters after the dot, so emails like john.doe@yahoo.com are invalid. And people that have short names can't get the email address they want.

  18. Libya is not found in the country list

When creating a new account, the mobile phone number is mandatory, but I can not find Libya in the country list! so I could not enter a valid phone number, and the account creation process stops.
PLEASE add Libya to the country list. Thanks.
