Yahoo! Autos - the future of Yahoo! Inc. is in your hands.
Yahoo! is a web services company founded on 'search', so I understand why Yahoo would assign a team of programmers to Yahoo Autos to develop backend software that scrapes automobile related data from around the internet and auto-populates (no pun intended) the various information fields for each make/model vehicle. Indeed, it's a convenient and cost effective way to curate Autos. Alas, there are problems. First, nobody uses Yahoo for search. So if you're not a search engine, what are you (other than an Alibaba shareholder)? Anyway, so what if you're not search, you guys have lots of cool internets! You're Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Autos. Probably some other things too, but those four are the ones that matter, for now. Seems like, since Yahoo! Autos is one of your BIG4 web services, you'd have a bunch of car experts (not programmers) hand-curating that ****. I mean, if you had one expert for each model that would only be 42 employees. I'm sure a single person could handle all 42, but let's not be cheap Yahoo, we are talking one of your BIG4 here. Go out and hire 5-10 full time employees who are car experts and I guarantee Yahoo! autos will be the bomb in like 6 weeks. I have my eye on one particular error, so I'll be watching, and waiting to see whether your guys are combing through the piles of erroneous information currently on the site. God speed.
