Get it right, it's important and it shows respect. Robin Williams did not have DLB, it was LBD Lewy Body Dementia
LBD shows up in symptoms that are similar to Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease. However, it also comes with its share of add on symptoms, such as hallucinations.
Robin was diagnosed with Parkinson's (often LBD is mis-diagnosed as Parkinson's because of the tremors). However, when a doctor requests an in depth look at the brain, then it is possible to see the Lewy Bodies growing like peas in parts of the brain causing all sorts of catastrophes.
Robin Williams brought attention to a disease that is the second highest form of dementia, and yet no one knows about it. By drawing attention to this, we can properly diagnose, fund for prevention and quality of life for patients. So Tom Butler, please fix your error in your article about Robin Williams' wife's comments about his death. It's LBD, not DLB!
On another note, depression can come along with a terrible diagnosis such as LBD. So to say it did not play a part in his death, is also inaccurate.
