Make Yahoo! dominant again by becoming "the place for privacy".
There are alot of us out here looking for alternatives to the creepy big brother policies of Google and FaceBook. If Yahoo! were to re-position themselves as "the place for privacy" and legitimately deliver I suspect they would regain significant marketshare.
Roadmap:
Design an easy-to-use "opt-in" mechanism allowing users to choose the ads, news and products that they want to see. Perhaps even a configurable "what do I need this week" interface that allows users to let Yahoo! know the product(s) or service(s) they need right away.Campaign:

Please stop popping up comments at the bottom of the page. It blocks content. I "X" out the pop-up comments, but they just reappear.
If people want to read comments, they will go to the bottom. I am reading a story, but the comment pop-up blocks the page. At least have the system stop popping up again after I closed it out. 99% of people hate pop-ups, and that 1% is deranged. This is a new feature I believe, but it is horrible.

Remove the ability comment anonymously
Require people who choose to comment on articles to be linked to a social media account. This would cut down on the bottom-feeders who like to troll or anonymously propagate their hate. If you stand by it, you should have your name out there when you say it. Maybe there's an integration you can use like disqus to make the community healthier.

Navigation should contain a feedback icon and an edit icon allowing the user to configure the navigation with the icons.
Main page Navigation can have an edit feature allowing the user to choose from all icons, which to display and where. You just need to supply the default.

As currently formatted all you get are the complainers, meaning the squeaky wheel gets the oil. What about all those items that people would rather stay the same?
If 15000 people dislike something, do you change it even though 500000 people are in quiet acceptance of it.
How many votes does it take to sway the agenda? 1000, 10000, 100000...

Yahoo makes it so ad blockers also block story content. These stories do not originate with Yahoo but are copied from free sites without blockers. If you wish to no longer be a home page for millions keep doing this dis-service.

Dianne Feinstein knew of the ordeal but never did anything about it. The lady Sharyn E. Bovat has met with Dianne F. recently about the Christine Blasey Ford event against Kavanaugh. Placing the country of origin next to a commentators name.
If you place the country of origin next to the handle of commentators, this would help curtail propaganda. So many foreign nationals represent themselves as Americans thereby forwarding a false narrative.

where are all the crime stories at. there use to be 1/3 of the stories were about crime.
there should be more crime stories. from all over the 50 states .
