2 Educators Create BLM Anthem to Break Silence!
Attn: Yahoo Staff,
Inspired by tragic events sparking the heat of the Black Lives Matter movement, two Phoenix, AZ educators and graduates from St. Olaf College, Herb Ronnell & Pat Devon, write a positive hit Anthem titled "A Big Change". This song is on a virtual tour across the nation as it has garnered the attention of local and national news as well as beginning to trend on social media. We hope this piece will bring awareness and incite a continuous dialogue around black lives matter. Thereby expanding and obtaining our ultimate goal of racial equality, social justice, and solidarity for all!
We would love an interview about our work, this song, and the impact we hope to accomplish in America. Thank you for your consideration and support!

DETAILS ABOUT THE SONG
“a BIG change” is the latest release from Herb Ronnell (Herbert Washington) and Pat Devon (Patrick Bass). The track ushers in a new era of music with its rawness and timeliness. Sure to carry the torch forward, “a BIG change” is a cry for racial equity and social justice. There are fiery speeches integrated and chants from protests and riots that keep the vibe of this song booming. Herb Ronnell’s voice warms the hook and electrifies the bridge, organically generating goosebumps and teary eyes. Combine his inspiration and tenderness with the cozy tones of Pat Devon’s verses, and you have an edgy, audio delight. Pat’s bars are poignant, spotlighting, and cuttingly truthful. Together, Herb and Pat have a vibe here that will certainly keep the baton moving forward in our race to establish anti-racism.
So, how’d it all come together? Herb Ronnell and Pat Devon went to the same college. After finding some success with a band they founded, Pat would move to Arizona and re-connect with Herb. Their music creativity resurged and the two have spent years offering up excellent contributions to the music scene. Alongside the art, Herb and Pat once served as educators on the same campus. Soon, Herb was named the Artistic Director of the Grammy award winning Phoenix Boys Choir and Pat went on to lead as an administrator at a local high school. The intersection of education, music, and philanthropy definitively shines through in their latest release, and their communities are ready to brace their efforts in giving back, leading with love, and sparking…a BIG change.
Herb Ronnell and Pat Devon are dedicated to serving the people. Please consider donating to Black-owned businesses and supporting Black artistry. We must continue to lift the voices of those who have commonly been denied an avenue to authentically express. Advocacy and allyship are areas Herb and Pat hope to foster and grow, particularly, by committing to honor the aforementioned statements. All love for those who love all.
