Dear Editorial Team of Yahoo, let me refer to the article "13 community cases out of 25 new COVID infections in Singapore", May 11 2021.
Please refrain from using the term as "the Indian variant" as it denotes racism. I understand that CNA and Straits Times have changed to be termed as "Variant from India" or "Variant from South Africa". We don't use terms such as the British Variant, or Brazillian Variant. Let's not fuel the flames of racism, intentionally (as your headers were in bold and italicised when referring to the "Indian variant" and other variants were not mentioned in your article) during this difficult time of war against the virus.
