Allow users to turn off autoplay for video
Please allow users to have the option of turning off autoplay of videos. If a video makes my browser hang up because it is trying to load, I will, 100% of the time, click away and won't come back to that page. I've tried ad blockers but you have been working around that haven't you Yahoo?

I, essentially, never click on articles on Yahoo! Sports or other Yahoo! sites anymore because of autoplay videos. The commissioners of the fantasy sports leagues I'm in use Yahoo!, so of course, I use Yahoo! for two fantasy sports leagues, but I go elsewhere for any other content.
I used to visit Yahoo! Sports (as well as ESPN) for non-fantasy sports content all the time, but never do anymore.

4th ranked... 9 months later... still an issue.
If I want to watch the video, I will click the play button. I most certainly don't want the video to pop up again when I scroll down, I don't even understand the purpose of this. Am I supposed to simultaneously watch the video and read the box score? All this feature does is slow down the web page. You know what an internet users #1 complaint is? A SLOW PAGE.

It is stunning how impervious Yahoo is to negative user feedback. Get rid of auto play.

Please allow us to disable the autoplay throughout Yahoo!. If I'm at work or in a public place and checking headlines and click on a story, the last thing that I want is for a loud video to start playing. Please understand what we're all saying about this and allow us to disable it.

I am fully capable of pushing play if I want to watch a video. I don't like that the video now follows me when I am scrolling. Please let me turn this off

Give us a way to permanently disable autoplay of videos on your site. I've used add ons, scripts, different browsers, etc and sure enough eventually you find a way to force them to autoplay. At this point I have to permanently disable FLASH, HTML5, and now I can't use those when I actually do want to you know, like when I got to a site where I actually WANT to watch a video.
I often browse while on a mobile hotspot and the last thing I need is unavoidable autoplay videos playing every time I visit this site.
You do want people to keep using your site right?

This isn't just an issue of software hangups. I've blocked whole sites (Cinemablend if you want one for a good example) because of how loud and shocking the noise is that initiates the video playing. An option to turn off autoplay would probably avoid a few heart attacks per year...it's taken me a half hour or more sometimes to get settled and comfortable again after a roaring video came to life that I didn't ask to play. Should be a lawsuit for that of some kind.

Clicking pause on an autoplay MLB game of the day just full screens the game, literally the opposite of what I'm trying to do

If I want to play a video... I WILL HIT PLAY. I don't need the auto video to slow down my browser and distract me on the right. Please turn this feature off.

Your videos do not load well on my Dell and causes it to slow the loading. I wish I can urn on the ones I want to see and shut off the ones I do not want to see. Also, when I open the page I do not need the volume blaring on something I do not want to see. It disturbs all around me!

Yes, autoplay for videos is regressive not progressive; you're losing your sports readers with this and other format changes.

No More Autoplay for ads and videos! I immediately click off the page and move on to others non-Yahoo websites for my sports info.

Remove the annoying-as-**** auto-play vids or give us an option to turn them off. Yahoo sports continues to become worse as new idiotic ideas are forced upon us.
If I want to see a vid, which is rare, I WILL CLICK ON IT MYSELF TO WATCH IT. Auto-play vids are worse than popup ads in my opinion.

I am also on a metered internet connections (satellite and cellular data) and can't afford to visit a site that autoplays videos I didn't ask for.
