Conversations - Problems
Your "new" Conversations (replacement for Comments) section is loaded with problems . . . I guess to go along with your horrible new sports formats (it all used to be on one page . . . now it's all over the place) which are drawing much criticism.
Biggest single complaint from users is that their posts (Comments) disappear mysteriously.
Also, personally, I can only get the Conversations section to work on one browser (Internet Explorer) and it will not work (well or at all) on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. FYI, I am using Windows 7.
Please feel free to contact me for a more thorough list of the many, many problems/flaws in Yahoo Sports. It really has become awful.

I lost 5,000 comments at a whack one fine day and a couple hundred more later on. I don't mind if you delete the old comments that no one will ever look for again but please restore the post counts.

eventually people will quit coming here to post anything...haven't seen even ONE change ...the terribly annoying auto play videos are still happening....very slow loading and scrolling with multiple cliks to OPTIMIZE ALL YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS ... you have effectively made your comment section worse....is putting a viewer option for autoplay OFF/ON SO DIFFICULT?? you had it before...your writers, should WRITE, AND STICK TO WRITING ...START WITH WOJ, GOOD WRITER, BUT WHY ON AUTO PLAY VIDS??? I DON'T SEE THAT ALL THESE COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR IMPROVEMENTS, HAVE IMPROVED YOUR IMPROVEMENTS...

Just an update, I've been following the trolls for consistency and so far the only two people that could be behind all of this is the Giants fan Wallace and Seattle Mariners fan SeattleM's1. Those two Yahoo ID's are the ones they don't typically troll with but more use for baseball conversation and smack talk. They both have tons of Yahoo ID's and probably create new ones daily. The most recent ID that is being used by the Seattle fan is "william". Lets get it together Yahoo and do something about these 2 Adults acting like little boys. They have ruined the comments section of Yahoo.

A few days ago, I did a simple test on the largely empty Dodgers vs. Cardinals game board by posting the same short comment, over and over, each time it was deleted. After several rounds of posting and disappearing, an SF Giants poster with a long history of violating Yahoo's terms of service showed up, and made a snarky comment as a reply. This guy is a repeat offender with many multiple identities, and I believe he is the one behind the disappearing comments on the Dodgers boards. One of his screen names is Yeah So, but he also uses Bhitchdall, and a large number of other ID's, some of them spoofing other posters. He is also likely to use SFGDynasty as a screen name as they often appear together on the boards. Even a cursory look at the posting history of these screen names reveals numerous violations, and it is surprising that this guy has not been banned. I think that might be because most normal posters have muted him, which could also explain why he is angry and deleting the comments of others. Why does Yahoo allow these kinds of abuse to go on unchecked?

I agree with the comment below from POV. The best option would be to leave the mute function intact, but remove the ability to delete comments by reporting abuse. That would starve the trolls of the attention they crave, and shift the balance of power back to normal posters.

This supposed Seattle fan that has been ruining the boards is now posting under the name of Robert. You will see him post as a normal fan on the Seattle board. He came out and started posting his filth as a user named William and aimed **** type of remarks towards a user named BigDaddyDG. So when is Yahoo going to remove the report post option? Leave the mute function intact so these sickos can be removed without notice from the normal users view.

Agreed with Baseball Fan, what's the point of this abuse team when they've done little to stop the deletions. And not only would I recommend eliminating the ability for a user to delete comments, I would also recommend the removal of GiFs. There are too many obscene GiFs that are being posted, and that have nothing to do with a baseball discussion.

To: Abuse Moderation Team
What's that mean anyways - you moderate abuse?
It's been 6 days now. Getting worse rather than better. Might I be so bold to suggest you immediately get rid of the "report abuse" function while you try to figure out what is going on. If that stops this garbage you'll have a good starting point. If not, try removing some other function.

Why do all comments get deleted every couple of minutes?

Hello fans, this is your Yahoo Administrator. We have decided we don't want fans on our gameboards anymore, so we re-designed things to appeal exclusively to our two main constituencies, which are (1) trolls and (2) "fantasy" players. What's that, you say? You're a traditional fan who likes real games, and to talk, respectfully, about them? Get out. Repeat: Get out. If you don't get the message, the experience here itself will soon chase you away. And that's intentional.
See ya. Have a good life. We suggest MLB.com -

The deletions are continuing unabated on the new format Dodgers board as well. For all intents and purposes, this looks to be some new kind of denial of service attack targeting the new format Yahoo sports boards. This began with Yahoo's ill-advised introduction of GIFs, which allowed the trolls to unleash a torrent of obscene images that drove a great many regular users away.
Those Dodgers posters who fled to the old format Yahoo Canada boards are now being besieged there by some of the most extreme Giants trolls. With no mute button on those old format boards, the trolls are running amok there, but they have not been deleting messages. Perhaps they know that these actions would be easier to track on the old format. IMO, at least one of the mad deleters might be found among this group of multiple-identity trolls. It would be nice if someone at Yahoo would take a look at this and do something about it.

From what we last learned a couple of posts came through about a user Lucien Picard who is the person doing all the deleting of comments on the Red Sox boards and many others. Now what I've seen over time we used to have a user named Nicky who somehow drew this person to the Red Sox message board. During that time this person was posting as the fake Hatchetman who constantly spammed the board for months with vile and disgusting comments. Those same comments were posted under a different account under the name of Lego Man last Sunday night. We have seen this person troll under many accounts also on the Dodger board and his use of words and how he composes them were seen posted under other accounts like Bluto. That person is a fan from Seattle who post normally under the name of SeattleM's1 and doesn't use the foul mouth while posting as this user but was able to figure out with some of his choice words under other accounts was also the same words used under his Seattle M's1 account. This guys IS the Mad Bomber and Deleter who has ruin all the baseball message boards on Yahoo. Hopefully Yahoo has gotten deeply involved at this point and stops this monster from ruining the fun for those adults who want to chat about baseball.

It's mind-boggling that Yahoo would "design" a feature that is so easily defeated and hijacked with impunity by any troll that can wreck the intended experience for hundreds of users, and do nothing about the obvious flaw. Why bother? Just shut the feature down until it's designed properly.

Just for the posters out there that are getting fed up. The person deleting posts has to constantly switch being accounts to be able to remove these posts so the moment one of your deletes post another one. They then have to switch to there accounts again. Yahoo should be able to find the person or persons that are prolonging the mess once they see the number posts reported by the same users. The other thing that Yahoo could do as well is reinstate the posts that were deleted provided they are not trolling comment and fit into the conversation. Have fun posting about baseball and let trolls run wild. They will get caught eventually.
