Offensive post about coronavirus by your Mock Draft analyst Hayden Winks via Rotoworld on sports.yahoo.com (posted 3/6/20)
Dear Yahoo Sports Editors: I was appalled to read the NFL Mock Draft dated 3/6/20 by Hayden Winks of Rotoworld on your sports.yahoo.com website. At pick #31, this is what he wrote:
- Dolphins (moved up to SF) - Trevon Diggs, CB The 49ers’ next pick after this 31st overall selection doesn’t come until we’re all dead from the coronavirus, so it’s likely that San Francisco moves down. A team with a bunch of Day 2 capital? The Dolphins, who address another defensive need here with an athletic but risky cornerback prospect.
As of Saturday, March 7th, 2020, 3,569 people worldwide have died from the coronavirus, including 19 deaths so far in the United States, plus the fact that there have been more than 100,000 coronavirus cases worldwide. This is NOT a laughing matter to superfluously make an asinine reference like that for ANY sports story. Unless you are actually covering sports news about the effects on coronavirus on the sporting industry, no writer, reporter, or analyst, should be making light of the coronavirus just to be smart-a** and have fun at the expense of all the coronavirus victims and their families. I hope you will take appropriate action against Hayden Winks and Rotoworld for posting such an offensive remark. I am an avid reader of Yahoo Sports, but if this is the kind of unprofessional and disrespectful content continues on your website, I will NOT hesitate to change to a different sports provider on my browser.
Thank you very much for you time and consideration in this serious matter.
