filtering mail is incredibly worse. return to the old way!!!
The old way of filtering was as good as it could be. The new way - with going to a new page and having to type in the filter conditions (which I can't seem to copy from the headers now. What's with that?) in a word: Sucks!! Return it to the old way!!
More than 2 years since this idea was posted, and still "Gathering Feedback"??? What are you waiting for, Yahoo? The filter implementation in new Mail in far inferior to the old implementation. (1) Filters are processed in the order in which they appear in the list, yet I could not find a way to move filters up or down. ("Help" says to select a filter and press up or down arrow, but that does not seem to work.) (2) Users should be able to create filters from messages in the Inbox, as in the old Mail.

filters need to be just a click away and you should be able to add a sender to an existing filter, it would save time and require fewer filters, i do like that yahoo allowed more filters but having to cut and paste and click through several screens is not good. If i could select "filter" from a drop down menu from the inbox and email then select "existing filter" or "new filter" then i could quickly sort things without all the hassle or a hundreds of items long list of filters

I am a Yahoo mail user for many years, but I am seriously thinking about leaving it. My mail box is receiving dozens of phishing mails every week. I am testing GMail and will adopt it if you do not seriously improve your filtering.

I have several filters set up from before I changed over to the new mail. The old folders are still functioning just fine, but I can't figure out how to add new senders to existing folders. For example, if I've just started getting emails from Macy's and I want to send all future Macy's emails to my "shopping" folder, how to do I make that happen? In the old mail, I would just select the message and click on the "more" option, and it would give me choices like move, mark as unread, and filter emails like this. I'm not seeing any option to filter emails like this.

So, Consider this ISSUE and Work on it.

The old Yahoo mail was so much easier to add filters. I already found how to add filters in the new mail, but the old way was MUCH better and more efficient. Having to copy the email I'm trying to filter from now, then going into the settings, etc. is a waste of time. Being able to click on an email and then clicking "filter emails like this" where it copies the information was so much easier. This new method is pretty much useless now.
