Filters
You used to be able to "filter" emails straight from the body of the email. Now there's not an option for that. Instead you have to open the settings, create a filter, going back and forth to the actual message to create the filter. Bring back the option of "filter emails like this" in the body of the email.

Where's the 'filter emails like this' option?

if yahoo email can let us save the filters in a file and in case of losing the filters the file can be used to quickly restore the filters that will be great.

I just switched to the new email format. Not only is it very 'busy' now....I like the streamlined look, but I filter a lot of emails into folders to keep the Inbox clean. The problem is, with the old format, I could go to the drop down above the email and click to 'filter messages like these'. With the new format, this is gone andf I have to go to settings, copy and save thew email address, then go to filters and paste it so I can filter the emails into a folder. Who thought it was a good idea to take a simple concept and make it so complicated? I am going to see if I can switch my email back to the original sleek and professional looking format. i think we should have this option. And so I can use the other filter system. I hope I can do this.

+1. Please reinstate "filter emails like this" button. I can't even find the place to manually create filters in the settings now.

Jake, if you click on More Settings below the appearance section, the choice to create filters is there.

The new design lacks the ability to create filters for your emails. The settings gear icon doesn't give any ACTUALLY USEFUL settings, only a bunch of useless appearance choices. The current Yahoo help page for creating filters is useless as it's legacy information that doesn't apply to the new design.

I can't believe how hard it is to create a filter. Why can't it be done while viewing a message? I'm about to cancel my yahoo account. Gmail is SO much easier to use!

The smart thing to do is back out the changes and folks will be happy.

Please bring back the easy way to set up a filter directly from the email. The new process add a large number of extra clicks including copying and pasting the email address and/or subject line. Less is more. Makes me want to switch over to gmail with this change for one of my Yahoo accounts. If I move one to gmail they will all move to gmail.

Please bring this back! I'm going to switch to a different email service if this is not resolved soon. I receive so many unimportant emails and creating filters for all of them takes me more than 10 minutes because I have to write down every single email address and then manually create a filter for each one. The current process is not convenient and is a waste of my time.

I just want to tag a bunch of similar but not the same email addresses and set them up to all go to a folder. I.e. all the shops to a retail folder or political messages to a political folder. This would actually make it easier to delete these periodically instead of having to hunt thru emails, which means I just let them pile up.
1) It's too hard to find and then create a filter. There are too many steps.
2) You cannot directly make a filter by right-clicking an email and directing it to a folder
3) There is no easy way to simply "get" an email address. -

Filtering was ok before. Harder now as there was no automated method. Whatever the case, it needs work. Either there needs to be a better explanation of the variables the filter can accept or the filter needs fixing to accept more varied arguments. Reason is I am having trouble organising the filters as well as condensing multiple rules that filter into the same folder.
