Filters
You used to be able to "filter" emails straight from the body of the email. Now there's not an option for that. Instead you have to open the settings, create a filter, going back and forth to the actual message to create the filter. Bring back the option of "filter emails like this" in the body of the email.

your filters are not working. they automatically get reset after sometime. I configure some spammers to directly move to spam folder defining their sender name or a particular word in the subject line.
They work for a few days and then I start getting those emails delivered to inbox again. I go back to the filters section and find that the filter is intact but the target folder is automatically changed to inbox. I have done it a couple of times now. Can you fix it. -

I am a Yahoo mail user for many years, but I am seriously thinking about leaving it. My mail box is receiving dozens of phishing mails every week. I am testing GMail and will adopt it if you do not seriously improve your filtering.

Agreed, need to be able to right click a message and set a filter. populate the dialog with filterable message attributes and values from the message it was activated from. Allow us to change these values, and save the filter.

When I FINALLY found the filters I had created, I had to scroll to find the filter I wanted. SORT BY: Date or Alpha (ascending/descending) or SEARCH will be greatly appreciated. Duplicates as well

One should be able to create filters easily and quickly directly from the Inbox and from the message

Add options to sort Filters alphabetically; not manually If possible, allow as to click+drag or move the filters in an order we like. Thanks.

(5) please add a way to OR terms in the filter settings so I can reduce the number of filters I have (like indeed.com|monster.com|careerbuilder|etc|etccc|etccccc would send emails that match any of these strings into my 1-jobhunt folder)

(1) add a create filter menu option in lots of places while viewing emails to easily add filter from selected email's address
(2) when I rename a folder, update all the filters to use the new name. I use numbers to sort my folders (1-work, 2-school, 3-sports, 99-couponsSalesGroupon, etc), and sometimes I rename them in order to resort.... that breaks all my filters that sort mail into these
(3) the filter [move up] [move down] and [delete] buttons should not scroll of the screen, they should always be visible even when I am down at the bottom of my filter list
(4) some way to sort through the filters, I have numerous duplicates because sometimes they just stop working so I tried to re-create a new one -

Why have you played with the filters section. I have things that never showed up now in every day and I cant get some to go back. All I can do is Spam them and that's not right. You want money but every time we turn around you release a product that has not had full regression testing as well as proper QC & QA.
You better clean up your act if you want people to pay for mail accounts. I dont trust you now since the 2013 breach that you didn't say anything about til 2017? not to mention the others. Get it together or just fold into obscurity and let companies that want to do the job in. -

Please bring back the filtering directly from the email itself. I was contemplating ditching yahoo email as my primary one for the longest time. This lack of option might just do it. I don't get why you would make it so complicated. Commonnn.....

Filters purpose
"choose the folder to move to" is the only choice to deal with the email.
Other choices can be put in place, for example: *****************/unread, forward, erase, etc. -

Where did the ability to filter emails go??? I keep having to switch back to Classic mail just to be able to set filters.
I need to be able to filter by:
1. specific email address
2. by domainMy inbox is getting so many marketing messages I can't find the good emails. Some marketing emails I want to keep in case I shop at the store, hence I want to filter them to their own folder so I can reference them when I need. But I DON"T want to have to read them every day if I am not shopping there.
Without filters I have no choice but to:
1. Delete them every day
2. Manually move them to a folder
3. Unsubscribe (which I do for some, but can't for all). There should be a size or time limit on the folder so that you can set how many messages you want it to keep before auto deleting.
it would be nice to have a filter that set an auto-delete for this type of message (i.e. If I don't open it after 7 days, then delete it, or move it to my sub-folder).Thanks!

Make it possible to create a mail filter easy to sort, and allow for deletion of many eamils at the same time from a search. Features in Gmail since forever.
There is a reason I don't use Yahoo mail for much.. it is awkward and no fun to manage hundreds of emails per day. So I don't let them come to the easily hacked yahoo Mail.

Not exactly a filter per se - but more of a background process that continually runs...
this way i can specify that all my coupons older than one month are auto deleted (or moved to trash)Or that some of the articles that come from various trade journals and groups i belong to are auto deleted (or sent to trash after 180 days)

FILTERS: Allow to filter by age of email. So im sure like most people i have a folder for 'coupons' and another for 'online journal articles', these folders often have > 2000 messages in them, it would be awesome if there was a way i can add a filter to take the all emails in a folder (or some sort of regular expression on subject, sender, content etc...) and program the filter it to throw away all messages older than a time period i specify.
example - in my 'coupons' folder filter so it throws-out/moves all emails in which the emails are over 14 days old to trash can (or some other folder i specify)
example 2 - in my 'journal' folder filter so it throws-out/moves all emails in which the emails are over 6 months (180 days) old to trash can (or some other folder i specify)
