mark as read
Before the latest update, we could check any number of unread mails and hit "k" as a hot key to mark them as "read". Now we have to go through the drop-down to do it. Bring back the hot key!

TL;DR: After recommending Yahoo mail for years, I'm quitting because of idiot stunts like this one - replacing the "k" keyboard shortcut like the incompetent managers/UX/developers that you are.
Long version (and, believe me, I never write feedback to products I use because it's a waste of my time, but Yahoo mail has been in my heart for years and I have to get this off my chest):
I've been praising Yahoo mail to anyone saying any other mail client is better since... since I've started using email (I'm 33 years old).
Here's why I have to say "Goodbye" to Yahoo mail and seems like Yahoo altogether:
- first of all, this comment box I'm typing this feedback into is 5 lines high - don't I deserve an text box that I can at least resize? It's a basic html element
- the Yahoo mail interface is sloppy, unmaintained, buggy allover (but it was still in my heart like that old t-shirt you keep wearing even if the wholes in it get bigger and bigger with every wash)
- you're removed right click on navigation elements and replaced it with that **** button that I don't want to click
- refresh takes forever, ****!
- icons that appear on hover - every 7-8th time I click on an email to read it, I trigger a search. What a bummer :(
- the gmail look-alike initiative was left incomplete. Not saying it was good or bad, but you guys just dropped while in progress.
- your SPAM filter has always been ****, but I've been hanging in there despite of this trivial feature that would have made my experience better
(somehow, I have this feeling that Yahoo as a company is the place where only junior UX designers work) :(I really wanted to leave this feedback to you because I loved Yahoo mail until I saw you removed the 'k' keyboard shortcut from toggling read/unread emails.
- well this does it! enough is enough! this is the last idiot stunt you will ever pull on me.Who considered assigning "k" to "mark unread", but "Shift+k" to "mark as read"?
Who considered that replacing "k" as a toggle with this ****?
Whoever it was, please contact me and give me an explanation because you caused a 10+ year user to quit Yahoo because of it.
And if you will contact me - I'm working as a Product Owner and UX designer in an IT company, creating products, features, creating wireframes and designing interfaces. I'm adding this information so that you know what kind of user I am, besides sticking to Yahoo for so long until now.Jesus... I've been praising you EVERY **** time anyone was mentioning any other mail client. I was ******** all over gmail using that flat material design and integrating chat in the email client. Actually I was a bit jealous that they did that with the chat - I've been a power user of the Yahoo messenger (as Windows application) my entire youth and I guess I wished you guys at least copy gmail if you didn't have the vision to come up with the idea before them.
****, I'm so disappointed with you.

Adding my vote. Very annoying not to be able to use the k hot key.

I totally agree! I used to use the "k" shortcut key all the time! Please bring it back!

Seems like the behavior has reversed for the hotkey where 'k' now changes to 'Mark as Unread' after many years of 'k' making the selected emails 'Mark as Read'.
