Option for adding new contacts
Yahoo should provide an option that enables you to tap on the email address of someone sending email, and adding this person to your contact list straight away. At the moment, I have to copy and paste (or write down) the email of the person sending an email, and then going into Contacts and manually add the person.

And I see the original was posted over 5 months ago and Yahoo still hasn't fixed the issue. In other words you place zero value on your users.

********, same thing for building a distribution list. This is 101 level e-mail capability and yahoo doesn't have after more than 20 years as search engine/email provider.

This is so frustrating to have to go through so much to add a person to my contact list

I can't understand how this idea has such a low ranking - this is crucial and it's ridiculous that yahoo hasn't done it already!

YES, what happened to the function that you could click on a email address of sender and ADD to contact list? This is imperative.

To ensure mail gets to me, I need to add a new sender to contacts, but it's impossible to do!

YES. This is so basic and simple. Get on to it Yahoo!

Being able to add a contact with one click is a basic function that used to be available in the old format and no longer is. Sort yourselves out, this is ****.

Your old "outmoded" format had this handy little feature. new email, little message popped up asking if you want to add this email to your contacts. a yes got you to the contacts screen where you filled in a few blanks with info, complete. bingo! back to email! So how come this fancy new "state-of-the art" doesn't even know where your contacts are? oh, they are in the OLD format. ok 2 clicks to get there and open the list. Hand input All the info for a new contact. Done. To get back to the email, I have to close out of yahoo and click back in!!?? yep. great engineering. And you want me to trust you to weed out all the nasties in the ads. Lost 2 computers to those nasties. Not gonna happen again.. Don't want to play with my ad-blocker? Fine, I will go where it is accepted. Been a proud user of yahoo email for a very long time, but you are pushing the limits. Did you run off all your engineers who knew what they were doing? This is infantile work by newbies who are obviously still learning how to spell engineer. sheesh.

C'mon Yahoo. How is it possible that such a simple request isn't immediately acted upon? On any cell phone, I can tap a phone number and an offer to add to contacts shows up. I'm here typing this because adding contacts and editing contacts is too hard to find. "User friendly" goes a long way. You have a big fat purple bar on your mail page that has plenty of room to add a contacts icon. Yes, right there next to the search box.
