I do not like the ads, it is distracting and unethical for business user accounts. I do not want to switch providers but I will if this is not removed soon.

You are driving me crazy!!! I have put Yahoo on the whitelist of Adblock Plus, but you keep annoying me with pop-ups to remove my ad blocker. Stop it!

Agreed. Majority of ads are toxic and useless for every day living, it's just cruddy companies trying to make money from gullible and unaware users which I think is wrong. We're supposed to be trusting Yahoo to protect us from this crud and they're just catering to it. For what? More money? Lead the charge and make a stand, ads are wrong and if a user wants to look for something let them ask questions and do it themselves. Stop holding our personal and private information *******, we believed in you!

I just changed one of my email accounts to gmail. There are still 2 more on yahoo. I plan to switch those soon. I have been with Yahoo for more than 20 years. I have always liked it better than the other email platforms. However, this new stunt with white listing, going to basic (and not being able to stay on basic) is something I cannot accept. If I find that my account changes for the better I may come back. It's not likely.

I clicked on an ad in Yahoo mail by mistake a couple of years ago and it took me to a site that locked up my computer with a red screen and an alarm. What?? Yahoo (Verizon) is using one of the oldest tricks in the book. Since people don't like to switch email providers after a while since many contacts have it, they use that against the user. Same thing when an online company gives something away such as free web hosting (Weebly) or free photo hosting (Photobucket) the customer gets accustomed to it and they have them locked in and either force them to pay up or have greatly reduced what had once been totally free. Although Yahoo tactic is common It's sad and cheeezey!

After 15+ years I'm about to leave Yahoo. I do not want their ads in my email and if I go to Basic Mail, it is hard to manage. Yahoo, you're making a huge mistake forcing people to watch your super distracting ads!

Please stop at least the adds with videos. It's extremely disctractive and annoying.
When I'm writing / reading e-mails I don't want something constantly flashing on my screen.
After more than 20 years with a Yahoo e-mail, I am seriously considering to change to another provider. Just please stop this madness! -

I'm down with this, I don't want any ads on my email either. On the other hand, I'd be a LOT more willing to accept them as long as certain conditions are met:
-Doesn't take data (as long as there is limited data I will block ALL ads)
-Sound is default turned off
-no autoplay at allI literally have an ad-blocker specifically designed for Yahoo because their ads are so bad. I already use Yahoo for my junk mail... I can easily drop it completely.
As a note: They have been "gathering feedback" for 2 years now and this is the #1 ranked request by a large margin. They have the feedback, they just need to act on it.

My adblock has excluded yahoo mail for years, in the last week or so, I have gotten warnings at every click to disable/exclude adblock or use basic mail.
I am sure you will have your coders fix the newly introduced bug quickly, as I see this is ranked #1

Stop demanding that I turn off my AdBlocker! This pop-up started appearing (again) recently and I simply WON'T DO IT!
Sadly, ads these days are commonly infected with malware ("Malvertising"). I understand the need for companies to make money and that using ads is a common way for them to do so, but Yahoo! doesn't do a good enough job of filtering ads.
In fact, Yahoo! was the primary reason I started using an AdBlocker in the first place many years ago. I was constantly getting redirected to fake sites and getting warnings from my antivirus software.
Yahoo Classic Mail was a thousand times better IN EVERY REGARD than this version. Why any changes were made is beyond me.
Please, Yahoo! listen to your users! If this many people are still complaining about a change you made this long after you made it, then something is seriously wrong. You are going to destroy your business by forcing "updates" (which have fewer features and annoying/dangerous aspects) onto people who simply DO NOT WANT THEM. There have been HUNDREDS of these threads created on this Feedback page over the years, but for some reason they keep getting deleted. If they were all still here, you'd have likely hundreds of thousands of comments all saying the same things:
1. Bring back Classic Mail!
2. No, I'm not going to turn off my AdBlocker! Stop demanding that I do so!
Or you can ignore us until we go away...to GMail or one of the million other e-mail providers out there.
At this point, the primary reason I'm still around is because my family has had their Yahoo! accounts for 20 years and I'm still holding out hope that one day you'll listen to your loyal fanbase. And I AM a fan! I wouldn't have stuck by if I didn't greatly appreciate and enjoy your services over the years. The customizable home page, the (old) versions of Yahoo! mail, etc...
In the end, if it isn't broken, don't fix it! -

I had a problem with Verizon cellular service years ago. Dealing with them left a really bad taste in my mouth. I was not happy to find out that Verizon took control of Yahoo, and this kind of tactic is the reason. Verizon took a good thing and made it unfriendly for users. That is typical of their greed and unconcern for customer service. There are other email providers and other cellular providers. Maybe we should just not use anything Verizon has to do with, and give our business to someone who'll listen and care.

So you show you are gathering feedback but in the meantime, you make this s**** pop up come up more and more often??? Why? You have almost 3800 comments and from the ones I've read, people are hating this. Yet, here you are, not only taking away the X to take it away but making it pop up every single blessed time I open or look at an email? WTH, are you really just trying to get rid of your customers? In no logical brain would this make any kind of sense! Please stop or I will definitely be changing email providers in the next couple of days. Ridiculous!

Get your ******* ads off of my page and stop with your white list mandates. or I'll just change email providers and internet home page so i don't have to bother with any part of your site.

I can put up with some ads, but your flashing animated gifs and video do nothing but suck data and are so distracting as to make the email page unusable. Do you really think these ads do anything other than **** off users? I have used Yahoo email for many years, but the service has become rife with unwanted and intrusive ads making the pages unusable.

Stop with the ad blocking posts. I have Ad Block and do not plan to get rid of it. Go back to the original format.

You want me to stop my adblocker. Ok then fix the HUGE lag caused by your ads. With my adblocker on it takes me 30 seconds to load my mail. With my adblocker off it takes several HOURS to get my mail to load. To make matters even worse, the ads are for nothing that is useful. While I am on the subject, these stupid ads are also making my antivirus go crazy with ALL THE MALWARE they are infected with. My antivirus has several states of CONSTANT PROGRESSIVE SCAN that runs at all times. When I allow these STUPID CORRUPTED ADS to run they continuously flag in my antivirus. DONT PUNISH YOUR USERS FOR YOUR STUPIDITY....

I see that the forced White List notification to enable ads is back! Pease dump this notification and allow us to use or Ad Blockers to block banner ads. All you are doing with forced ads is making people switch email providers, such as going to Gmail.
