Better filters to direct spam away from my inbox. Way too much spam mail!!

How about just having filters that work? I've already read about filters being "too specific". Too specific? Are you kidding me? If I say I want to move ANY message that comes from a certain address into a certain folder, I just want it to happen. None of my recent filters work. I should not have to prioritize them all the way to the top when you don't even give me an easy way to do that short of hitting the up arrow 200 times. Bye Yahoo Mail.

Please add back the "filter messages like this" option to add a filter within an email you are currently reading. I used to be able to set up a filter so that emails that were not spam but I did not want in my inbox could be directed into one of several pre-made folders. For example, retailer emails went into a Retail folder. Journal articles went into a Research folder. Now I have to create those filters from scratch vs. having a pre-populated option that allowed messages from a certain address to be sorted into a folder I had already made. You are making the process far more lengthy than it used to be. Why?

I have followed all your suggestions regarding spam and it continues to get significantly worse instead of better. The biggest problem being that additionally the spam filter is marking as spam extremely important work emails. My inbox has more spam than ever, from the same company no matter how many times I mark it as spam. Also I have to now check my spam folder daily as it contains work emails that are very important and time sensitive. No matter how often I go through and mark these as not spam they continue to end up there. Never the boring ones either, usually the ones about completing a certain training before getting fired or suspended, you know only the really important to keeping your job emails.

You need a filter that allows blocking of certain keywords, not just email addresses or domain names. Spammers have long-since learned to change email address and domain names, so blocking them often has no effect. There should be a way to block spam based on subject line or content. Maybe you have one, but I cannot find it.

I've suddenly began getting spam in my inbox where it was blocked before. Specifically from .top addresses and no mater how many times I mark as spam and click unsubscribe, they keep coming. You used to filter much better. I may have to switch over to gmail more.

Since the first of the year my spam folder has been FULL of *** emails that I don't want to see. It's very easy to see that they are SPAM so why are they getting through? What happened to Yahoo's spam detection that they get through now. It was great for about 4 months, hardly anything got through, now all of a sudden it's like a landslide.I flag them and BLOCK the sender but they just use a variation. Please do something to stop it!!!!!!

Ditto that. Just in the last week, spam is FLYING thru the filter. The emails have every indicator in the world of being spam, too. I'm not sure the filter is working at all. (I think all six today were moved by me.)

The change I have seen it is this. Before getting 100s of spam mail, but the filter was very good to not put good emails there, happened from time to time. Now I get fewer spam emails, but invariably at least 2 o 3 daily are good emails, the systems seems to purge it quickly, and If I don't get out of spam box, obviously I stoop receiving email from that source (specially when are financial institutions or important mail lists I am subscribed to. Any solution for this??

For a while, there was less spam, now there is more, about 20/day, and also getting to my inbox. What happened? can't you tell the difference between a Viagra ad and a legitimate message??

I have been getting way too much spam. I report the mail as spam and it keeps coming back. Most of my emails are spam and it’s irritating. I’ve had this account for so long and don’t want to erase it but I will do that if this isn’t fixed. I will just use my gmail account instead. Please fix this.

When I receive a spam message it accurately is directed to my SPAM folder. However, when I highlight the message it says to Block Sender and Delete Messages. After which, the messages reappear. Why? Are they actually "Blocked" also?

PLEASE make a setting where we can opt out of getting ANY emails from sites we are not subscribed to. I'm sick of my inbox being flooded from spam that i can't even find the actual emails I'm looking for, and it all comes from addresses I've never heard of or visited. It is ludicrous that Yahoo allows these sites to obtain our emails and incessantly send us spam.

Every time I receive spam (very good in identifying by the way), it says to block senders and delete all messages. I think the senders are blocked but the messages remain until "I" delete them. I would think this could be remedied.
