Improve your Spam filters PLEASE.
I nearly deleted my account because of it. I'm sick to the back teeth of receiving emails regarding African Lottery wins, being the beneficiary of an inheritance, dodgy high end labelled goods at ridiculously low prices and the links to **** dating sites. It's shameful that Yahoo, who have some of the best IT guys in the world working for them can't get this right. My computer is a family computer that my kid has access to.

That's what Google wants. For you to end your Yahoo account, and migrate over to Gmail. You do know that Google bought Yahoo a few years ago, right?...
Ruining Yahoo email is exactly what Google is doing by design. I know it!

I am a software engineer with more years of experience then I care to admit. So I have a different take on this issue then others as well as corporate experience with issues similar to this.
As and IT Professional, I have used multiple email clients in the past both professionally and for my personal use. I have to say when you have over 5,000 email messages in your inbox and more than 90% of them are spam there has to be an issue!
If I mark it as spam I should never see it again,
I understand that the issue is they are coming from different domains/email addresses but other email clients have the ability to filter on what is in the header or title of the message. Also, if the same domains/email addresses are sending in Spam, then they should be blocked at the servers from even delivering them past the received items on the mail server, no routing to a client's inbox!
I also observed, when I mark something as "Spam" there is no communication between my email and Yahoo themselves. Not having any feedback from the end user makes it difficult to keep a Spam filter updated and functional for all end users. I understand that what I consider Spam another might not, however, there is a limit to how many ads for car insurance one should see, even from the so called same company.
I agree with others that the spam filter is horrible and really does need to be fixed or just simply removed and for us to use 3rd party software to handle the spam from our yahoo mail accounts, which by the way a good one that supports the yahoo platform are almost impossible to find. I also should never have to do this as there is a Spam filter and I have an expectation that it should work, even if nothing more than to place the email into the Spam Folder, which if I chose to look at I am free to do but it is not just in my inbox for all eyes to see.
If in the Corporate World I allowed emails like what I see in my Yahoo client I would be fired for not preventing them from being sent to an inbox, just the same as certain websites are blocked.
I will admit I don't understand why this is such a big issue but it is and there are multiple entries in the form for it to be fixed, As such this should be a priority for you.
As it stands right now I would not allow my children to have their own email account with you!!!
New update..
In the time it took me to compile this comment, I ended up receiving more Life insurance quotes in my inbox not my Spam folder in fact nothing was sent to my Spam folder To make it even worst, I have never asked for any Life insurance quotes to even begin with.Yahoo get your act together!!!

Either make it so so the wildcard method for domain blocking works or add back domain blocking.
I've been having dating site junk (to me I considered it PORN due to inappropriate/questionable pictures/URLs {even AVG says it's a phishing site and blocks it}) sent to me daily from outlook.com e-mails. Before the change, the blocked seems to be working but something happened and the wildcard method is no longer working if it was working at all in the first place. I just want it to stop before it gets extremely out of control again and that's like 10+ a day that what's made me put outlook.com on the filter block list the first time around as it had gotten that bad.

Apparently the domains I blocked, BEFORE I was forced to change to the new yahoo, are still in force. I blocked about a hundred domains managed by OVH.net (France) because they took my spam complaints as an invitation to send even more spam in French, Which I don't read!Try "more Settings", 'Security and Privacy" it will accept *@domain. Whether it blocks the entire domain or not I have yet to verify. It seems to, because I have had no repeats (except spam from Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo Yahoo etc, from which I can't realistically block the domains.
I have nearly 700 domains on that list.
I also periodically have Wanted emails MISTAKENLY classified as SPAM! -

So today one daily newsletter to which I subscribe, and one message from a hobby group I belong to, were both hidden away in "Spam" which of course no longer notifies when new entries are deposited. I just happened to hover over the folder to find them; I never would have known about them otherwise. Keep on trying as hard as you can to be even shittier than Outlook.

Nothing wrong with my spam filter. Virtually all the dodgy email goes straight to Spam, with the occasional new player going to my in-box. No complaints from me there!

i'm giving yahoo mail entire domains to block, they wont because they profit from it. I contacted the CEO of Verizon Media and the next day I got more Spam pushed to my inbox by the Spam King Yahoo. They wont fix it as Verizon Media, and didnt fix it as Oath.
Yahoo mail took away the option to block entire domains of spammers email addresses. Yahoo loves Spam so much I'm sure the spammers from noondady.com worked out a deal with yahoo to push this **** into our inboxes. I got the first 10 days out of 30 of Dedicate Yoga Journey from an actress who ive threatened to sue if the spam doesnt stop.block these domains please- the entire domains because Yahoo knows they spam from another email address like it the next day and Yahoo gets a big check..
54dnorth.com
mail.petenrich-newsletter.com and all varations of it..
noondady.com
parrallelincapabledozen.com
forex4info.comsee Yahoo knows only blocking the entire email address wont block spam for good so they spam us from a new email address tomorrow push right to our inboxes so that on iphones the option to send as spam is non existent. yahoo loves that. Yahoo: good Business: Put all Spam in spam folder, not our inboxes and monitor it every day going forward. we may get a temporary fix, like a week, then its back to the spam that Verizon Media and Yahoo mail loves so much. Yahoo's middle name is spam.

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one experiencing this! I keep getting senior citizen dating site ads and I'm 20. Even if I put them as spam they keep coming back into my main inbox.

I keep having to dig through my SPAM folder to get out email that should not be there. I keep marking it as Not Spam, but next time I check I have mail that is correspondence from my elected officials back in the SPAM folder. Is there a way to permanently mark certain mail as NOT SPAM? Thanks!

Spam now shown as the 'bulk' folder? makes zero sense. used to say 'spam' folder empty. meaning no spam. Still Verizon has no control it appears, over spam at all.
Constantly the SAME senders, appear in my spam folder...many times no matter if their address has been put in the proper place to not have it anymore appear as spam. No other online email service has this problem, Verizon must make profit off the spammers.
