Help with my account
For the last two days I’m receiving dozens of nonsense emails. How can this be stopped? Thx
Hi there. The more often you mark these emails as Spam, the more you train your personal mail filter to recognize them as such. We recommend following these steps to manage your incoming emails: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/manage-spam-mailing-lists-yahoo-mail-sln28056.html
You can always create filters: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/new-mail-for-desktop/filters-organize-yahoo-mail-sln28071.html
If you need additional help, you can go to help.yahoo.com
Thanks,
Yahoo Mail team

There is so much spam these days, you cannot put a limit of the spam email addresses that are blocked. This is outdated due to high levels of spam and under the table/illegal data breaches/sales between marketing companies. By doing this Yahoo are compromising their credibility.

Why do you let obvious spam email through? Are you looking at how many users are classifying certain emails as spam and then blocking it?

Someone nowadays is bombarding with "McAfee" subscription spam, not really from McAfee, of course. I've marked it spam 100 times, can't you guys get the hint?

I've been getting spam mail from addresses that have underscores _ in them.
Yahoo's block feature does not allow me to block addresses with underscores which makes me have to use the Filters option instead which is iffy. When I try adding the address to the block list I get an error saying "The email address to ban is invalid"
Please fix this error before it becomes a bigger problem. -

We need a facility to block emails w/ certain words in the email address such as "costco" which is used in many scam emails but w/ different domains. Every week I'm receiving multiple emails with different domains allegedly from Costco offering large gift cards. These are obvious phishing emails.

When you mark something as Spam multiple times then move it to spam, stop sending it to my inbox!

Why am I Receiving an average of 30 SPAM emails in my SPAM FOLDER DAILY? How do I stop it? I only use this email for my banking. I do not use it to contact other people or businesses

The fact that "spam management" is not even its own category for improvement suggestion is quite telling as to how seriously Yahoo takes it. e.g. "Folders" ranks as a category... "spam" does not.
Anyway, to the point, the spam filter in the last few months began failing miserably- so bad it makes one wonder if it's deliberate. I get that new spam tricks come into the field all the time- Yahoo will not train to this as I manually mark spam. This is a trivial AI problem. Look at this "subject" line alone, for example:
⭐️ We_Have_SuccessFuLLy_VeriFeid_The_Shiipping_WH-#8796800 -_- 彡★Yahoo spam filtering calls that a valid email, despite many, many, opportunities for training. Something is clearly broken, and when I ask support, I get the stamped out template pointing me to some dummy info page about spam management, which is frankly an insult as well as an indication that no one is actually reading the help request beyond keywords. Seriously- do better. Don't force me to abandon over 24 years of Yahoo.

Do a better job of blocking spam email. I get at least one from a day claiming to be mcafee in my inbox. When a email address is a long string of random characters it should instantly be flagged as SPAM.

You need to fix your spam filtering. Most of what I get is spam but 90% of that spam should NEVER even get past your normal SMTP filtering. Its obvious bogus/spoofed mail that should be blocked at the end. You need to get your act together.

Why does yahoo don't act on all the request that a better spam functionality in needed for the yahoo e-mail ,

I would like to be able to designate words for my emails that would automatically send them to my spam folder, i.e. McAfee because the clicking on the current spam button only marks the email address and the spammers have millions of them and they just keep coming which is making the Yahoo Mail system almost worthless.

there is no simple way to report phishing. I tried all of your directions. you need a simple way to forward the email rather than giving directions and arrows that do not exist. It was not spam, it was phishing and no way to report it to you. I looked, I tried. Your directions do not have the arrows and such to follow. Terrible customer service.
