Help with my account
For the last two days I’m receiving dozens of nonsense emails. How can this be stopped? Thx
Hi there. The more often you mark these emails as Spam, the more you train your personal mail filter to recognize them as such. We recommend following these steps to manage your incoming emails: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/manage-spam-mailing-lists-yahoo-mail-sln28056.html
You can always create filters: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/new-mail-for-desktop/filters-organize-yahoo-mail-sln28071.html
If you need additional help, you can go to help.yahoo.com
Thanks,

At this point, I can only guess between two scenarios under the Yahoo roof:
1) Nearly everyone is gone, and there is no one left actually servicing these requests.
2) Yahoo wants users to abandon. The spam handling is a joke. There is still not even a category of feedback about it, let alone any even modest effort to filter even the most egregious spam. By all means, take a look at what I've manually filtered every day and see if you agree. Just taking a look, I have a feeling, is well past the effort level that I'd ever get here. So I'll post again, into the ether, and await my automated patronizing response.
After 25 years, I think I'm about ready to call it quits w/ this P.O.S. company. -

I have the same problem. Every day, I delete 5-10 emails that are obviously phishing emails, and every time I do, I got offered the chance to buy better spam blocking by signing up for Yahoo+. It's hard not to believe this is on purpose and your new marketing strategy- Allow more spam through to motivate me to sign up for your premium service. I've been using Yahoo for about 25 years, but I will be switching to another email service now because of this.

Why can't you stop the spam? Getting the same content from numerous email addresses that are supposed to come from places like Costco, Shoppers Drugs, PC, etc., these are all spam and I have sent them to spam every day. You really need to improve your spam filter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the past few weeks I have seen a huge amount of spam that's getting through your filters. Impossible to set my own filters to get rid of it. I've had an acccount for 15 years and have never seen so much! PLEASE DO SOMETHING.

The spam filter is NOT working AT ALL. I get SO MANY spam emails to my inbox every single day, and it's incredibly annoying! I mark each spam email as spam, so I'm not sure why the spam filter isn't working. FIX IT!!!

Spam filter is funny in yahoo. It blocks the email from a sender whom I have marked as "not a spam" several times. It allows some emails into inbox but still blocks a few. I also don't like this feedback system. Our problems are being made as a thread and voting is being conducted. What the **** is that!?
You just created reddit version of yahoo -

I am facing the exact same issue as I have been inundated with so many spam emails like never before. I have been criticized by family, friends and colleagues for sticking with yahoo but I am definitely ready to heed the call and move to using my gmail account. I have been holding back because of the stress of reaching out to all my contacts to change my email address but I will much rather spend my time doing that than deleting, blocking or flagging spam emails. Once I am done with the transitioning I will shutdown my yahoo account. I have NEVER EVER received a single spam email in my Gmail account and they don't have all these security related limitations that Yahoo has. It is simply ludicrous and insensitive for Yahoo not to care about it's customers. I AM OUT.

Yahoo needs to do a better job of filtering out junk and offensive mail. I do not need to receive 3 or 4 emails A DAY about African Manhood! Seriously. Can't you find a way to block all email from .uk. I'm sick and tired of having so much garbage in my email.

Yahoo's spam filter is a joke. Everyday, there are multiple spam emails in my main inbox, and I have to manually move them to the Spam folder, then block the senders. Gmail has absolutely no problems with this and never let spam into my main inbox. On top of that, it should not be difficult to recognize spam email titles that contain multiple grammatical errors or outright look suspicious. Why can't Yahoo do something so simple and be able to filter spam out properly as Gmail does?

Hi - In recent weeks I've started seeing high number of spam/junk email dropping in my inbox and not directed to the junk email folder. Trying to mark each of them as spam or move it to junk email folder but this is not manageable. These should have been automatically kept under Junk Email. If this is a strategy to point users to Premium service to have the junk email filtering/blockage that's not correct as this should be a basic email service. If that's the case then I will have depart from Yahoo Email after at least 25 years.

The subject says it all. And tech support had me check my filters, that's all they could offer. This is a paid service, Yahoo Mail Plus, with "premium" spam filtering. It has been decent the past 10+ years I have been a customer, but recently has been failing -- worse every day.

Here's how you can improve New Mail. I'm getting less than 10% of the emails I used to get. Still 100% of the spam, however. In addition, all the old emails I had saved vanished as well. I'm switching to another account, hopefully they will do a better job. The pretty new features look lovely though.

1. My direct message to YahooCare
This screenshot is an example of why you should NOT suggest the UNSUBSCRIBE option for an email I have marked as SPAM "but YAHOO TRUSTS THE SENDER? INSTEAD, you should offer the option to BLOCK SPAMMER (blocking the actual spamming "From" Address at the top of the Raw Header. So to recap the options should actually be (1) MARK AS SPAM or (2) BLOCK AND MARK SPAM. The screenshot PROVES that YAHOO CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO "TRUST" an UNSUBSCRIBE link because Yahoo placed this OBVIOUS SPAM in my Inbox!
2. yahoo! response:
Hello there, we are sorry to hear that. Please check this article to find out how to stop spam
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/manage-spam-mailing-lists-yahoo-mail-sln28056.html3. My reply:
Yes, I've already read all that, since it is the reference I used in the above message that states "When you mark a message from a mailing list as spam and we trust the sender, you'll be given the option to unsubscribe rather than marking it as spam."
I'm not asking a question on how to manage spam, I'm sending you proof that Yahoo's suggestions to UNSUBSCRIBE to a SPAM EMAIL are not valid, and likely only serve to INCREASE my spam!
This needs to be elevated to your SPAM FILTER department.
PLEASE and Thank You. Please Do Something. -

DON'T Trust and Suggest Sending UNSUBSCRIBE to Spammers!
Problem 1: You are Trusting SPAM !!
Yahoo! "Tips to avoid spam" says "Never reply to email subscriptions asking to be removed" but You Do It ??
We know how to Unsubscribe!PROBLEM 2: If it's SPAM/Phishing
The UNSUBSCRIBE link IS LIKELY ALSO SPAM/PHISHING !!
Your SPAM recognition sucks!
Trust US the Users!

"Unsubscribe from sender
When you mark a message from a mailing list as spam and we trust the sender, you'll be given the option to unsubscribe rather than marking it as spam.Select Unsubscribe and you will no longer receive any messages from the mailing list. Selecting Report as spam will mark the message as spam and move it into the spam folder.
Tips to avoid spam in the future
Don't reply to unknown senders.
Be careful who you give your email address to.
Never reply to email subscriptions asking to be removed."
