I have a U.S. account in English. However, for some crazy reason my sign-in has been showing up in Dutch or German for the past couple of months. Don't know what the heck is going on but this is terrible quality control by Yahoo. How can a U.S., English language only account that I've had for several years suddenly start to appear in Dutch/German. Yahoo doesn't appear to be able to even realize what language its accounts are in. Absolutely terrible service by Yahoo.

it's bad enough that you force the users to use the default language of the country that they are registered, and then there is absolutely no way of choosing other languages. this is terrible. don't you consider other races? you can't just assume everyone is familiar with the country's language. what if we are expats who live and work in that country but with no knowledge of their language? idiot

Sign-on page should have a list of languages (e.g., tab, list across bottom of page) to choose from instead of everything in the local language based on IP address. INCREDIBLY annoying to have it in Vietnamese and no way of understanding what is there.
YAHOO -- My problem and the problems below ARE NOT related to AFTER one signs in. It is the log-in page that is in a 'local' language with no way to change it. Don't suggest cookies as the solution as I wouldn't have to sign in if I let cookies persist, now would I?
All the more annoying that you consider this topic closed and haven't even bothered to address it. Add to that the lack of reading comprehension that led to you putting all of our comments here as if they were related to the problem above.

Hello, I'm a systems administrator for Docomo Pacific, an ISP on Guam.
It appears yahoo automatically sets the language to gujarati for users when accessing https://login.yahoo.com/
Guam is a U.S. territory, similar to Puerto Rico. The official language here is U.S. English and this issue leaves our customers confused when trying to login to yahoo.
Our ISP serves the people of Guam including the 7000+ U.S. service members stationed here.
Please change Guam's official language back to English.
I've tried to search for another way to contact you but the help choices are very limited and the number provided is only for "pro" accounts.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Mail Login Language
Hello, dear Yahoo team.
Sometimes I travelling to countries with foreign languages. When I trying login to mail in such country, the login page may appear in completely unknown language. I would like to have possibility to select English.
The sign in page language changed to Bengali and there is no option to change it to English. Does Yahoo decide what language and culture I will follow?
Please keep an option for language change instead of just assuming that people in a certain region all speak and understand the same language. This is the age of globalization!
What language and culture I will follow is my personal decision.

I live in Puerto Rico, and My Yahoo! And Mail are now in Spanish, I want to change it back to English! DO NOT ASSUME that because I live in a Spanish speaking county, I want everything in Spanish! My preferences are set for English language, but Yahoo! over rides those settings and you CANNOT change it unless you specifically open the U.S. yahoo page, but when you click on mail, it reverts back to Spanish.
