Enhance spam detection
Lately a lot spams have bypassed detection and they all have a very unique garbage like appearance in their subject and sender. Examples for subjects "- ²C'o n G r-@ at°", "H°ealTh", "C°on gr aT <", ".C'o n-g r a t..!". Examples for sender "S A - M s .°", "P'ro Sta Te", "A'ir PodS", "S' AM S.°". It'd seem easy enough if only Yahoo can use NLP to get a basic assessment on how nonsensical these are.

Maybe a massive mail-in campaign to yahoo customer service might get someone's attention.
I tend to doubt it, bit it never hurts to try.
Just open up the obvious spam email, and FORWARD it to:mail.tech@cc.yahoo.com and also to customercare@cc.yahoo.com
Use whatever verbiage/message you want, but feel to copy/paste the following message:
Why does yahoo mail allow this OBVIOUS SPAM to end up in my INBOX instead of going DIRECTLY into my SPAM folder? If yahoo can't filter OBVIOUS SPAM, then why should I continue using yahoo mail? Do you recommend that I switch to GMAIL? If not, then why should I continue using an email that CAN'T filter out OBVIOUS SPAM???

This is OBVIOUSLY a BLATANT ATTEMPT by yahoo to discourage users from continuing to use the basic yahoo email service and make the users feel like they MUST UPGARDE to the PAID email service because of yahoo greed!!! yahoo is more interested in revenue than on customer service/satisfaction. MASSIVE INCOME from advertising is not enough, so the greedy company expects to enhance revenue by getting more money from their users.
I have written the following email to yahoo customer service (and I use that term lightly!) citing dozens of OBVIOUS SPAM EMAILS:
Why does yahoo mail allow this OBVIOUS SPAM to end up in my INBOX instead of going DIRECTLY into my SPAM folder? If yahoo can't filter OBVIOUS SPAM, then why should I continue using yahoo mail? Do you recommend that I switch to GMAIL? If not, then why should I continue using an email that CAN'T filter out OBVIOUS SPAM???Almost every response comes back with all the different ways that the USER can TRY to filter spams, and, of course, lists the option of UPGRADING to the PAID EMAIL program.
These SPAMS are so obvious that FIFTH GRADERS could program the yahoo computers to filter them out. But again, yahoo INTENTIONALLY chooses to focus on ADVERTISEMENT REVENUE and PREMIUM email revenue. Anyone notice that on your list of emails in your INBOX, yahoo has inserted what looks like an email, but in reality, they have SNEAKILY inserted an AD in hopes that the user will inadvertently click on that AD so yahoo could collect MORE AD REVENUE!
I've also written to them asking why I should continue using yahoo with this type of horrible filtering system. NO REPLY, OF COURSE!!!
I don't expect things to change because it's ALL ABOUT CORPORATE GREED!!!

it's important to be able to block the senders from the spam folder!!!

no, i don't think typing style should make everything into spam. it is based on other things. but, all you need to do is mark it as spam. Also it helps if it qualifies, forward it to reportphishing@antiphishing.org .

I am increasingly finding that I cannot block senders of these types of emails. Even though the email is redirected to my spam folder, I am only given the option of deleting them, not blocking the sender.

Yahoo sucks so much ***, want to switch to Gmail and have my mail forwarded and to forward the mail you have to upgrade to Yahoo Plus LMAO. So done. Want to switch to avoid the SPAM , Yahoo clearly doesn't care about the customers. What was once the king of the internet now is a dead site that can't hold onto customers

Been with Yahoo mail for almost 20 years... even when better ones like Gmail were coming out I stayed loyal. But I'm done.. as are so many others... Every time I check my email there is SPAM like 2-3 each time. The subject lines make it so obvious its SPAM, Yahoo could easily prevent it.
Yahoo purposefully allows it because they get paid by scammers or want people to upgrade because its been a failed company that hasn't improved or innovated for 10 years. I'm done, switching to Gmail now.

Keep running into these, Yahoo really needs to work on this or become a dead site.

I have a lot of spam coming from domains with ".uk" but blocking a domain like "com.uk" doesn't work and Yahoo does not allow wild cards in filters or in blocked addresses or bloacked domains (Yahoo+). Please yahoo, if you won't block spam, at least give us the tools to do it ourselves.

Wow, so it's not just me. SPAM IS OUT OF CONTROL NOW!!! Unbelievable how they could care less about their customers, we are not all able to afford everything extra, soon I will be forced to go to gmail:(

I diligently use the Yahoo mail app to mark spam mail every day as spam. However, this doesn't seem to have any effect in training the spam filter to detect spam. The amount of spam mail I receive seems to be getting worse rather than better. Please refine the spam filter to do a better job of detecting and blocking spam. The spam mail I receive have message subjects and sender emails that seem easily detectable. I have another non-yahoo email account that I use as my secondary email, and I'm not having the spam issue there. I've been using yahoo mail for 20 years, and would like to keep using it, but I will close my account if this spam problem continues unaddressed.

By reading all the comments Yahoo wants no customers!
Time to move away from Yahoo, many others provide the service Yahoo once did
Good bye Yahoo - was good when you cared about your customers!

With the amount that are received daily by the dodgiest looking email addresses and yet yahoo's systems do not detect them....they are having a laugh with us, yahoo sends them themselves!!

Spam filter doesn't work. There is more spam than there used to be and I get a lot more spam in my inbox. It often it looks like this post describes. Why don't we have the block option anymore? We used to be able to block individual emails and there was also a way to block all spam emails in the folder at once. Now both functions are gone. When spam does go to the spam folder I see the same stuff over and over again in there. For example, along with other repetitious garbage, I get numerous camp lejeune lawsuit emails every day though I have no interest in this at all so I have no idea why I am being spammed by this topic. Does yahoo profit from spammers? Please improve your spam detector and spam blocker.

98% of my inbox is spam. I mark it as such every day but to no avail, it just keeps coming.
Spam, and Yahoo Ads in my inbox. I've held off moving but not much longer.
