The old interface was better in many ways. It is harder to navigate between stocks now and lines do not all show up as configured (still).
- For several months the lines in the graphs when I add 3 simple moving averages do not always fully render. I could get around it by making the lines really thick.... annoying. New interface does not have option to make them thicker. not all 3 lines show up as configured.
- When I get the graph settings I want, I want to be able to step through each stock in my portfolio. This was missing, you have re-added it, but it always goes back to top, so I have to scroll down and find my place every time.
- The only reason I use Yahoo over Google Finance is because it is better and familiar... so if you keep making it different yet LESS functional for real use, I will abandon yahoo finance for something better.
Setup 3 portfolios...with at least 6 to 20 stocks in each. Setup three graph indicators. Use 22" or larger LED screen. Zoom to 120% on firefox. Now, navigate around all 3 portfolios and you tell me if its a good interface now?

I'm leaving Yahoo. You had it right. When you stop fixing what works, perhaps I'll return. Shame on all of you.

Give me the code to the last two versions and access to the data and I'll set up a page that investors actually like. Yahoo, you know my e-mail, do it now.

Yeah, I agree with many of the comments. The previous charting tools and view were more user friendly, somewhat to do with the fact it was what we were used to. However, there are a few features that stand out that are missing in my perspective, primarily the watchlist scroll screen on the side of the full screen chart view. It made it very easy to get a quick visual overview of all of the chart movements for stocks on your lists. The 'My Portfolio' view of watchlists is only the numerical side, the charts are very important and feel like the new view is very inferior with the watchlist scroll screen missing.
There are a few other small things with the chart view, it's just not as visually intuitive. I don't like how the days are harder to distinguish now with the new shading scheme, specifically short-term views like the 5-day. Each day has various alternating shaded and unshaded sections to seperate morning and afternoon that are just confusing compared to the easy to see shading differentiation in the old view. Please make it easier to distinguish after-hours from open day trade hours. Also, in longer term views, again the shading doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. On the 1m view of a stock on new chart view, the shading for each week is sporadic, with the shading spanning weekends and alternating mid-week, it's just not easy to use. Intuitively you would think the shading would align with each changing week. Overall the shading is a detriment to the user.
Using your mouse to move over the chart, their used to be a little black dot that followed along the moving pattern to make it easier to see what point you were on, it's not there in the new view and again it's just harder to see and is less useful.
Last piece, and maybe this is due to the test phase aspect of the software, is each time I click for the full screen view of a stock's chart I have to add any indicators and update settings to include dividend events every single time. It used to be a saved feature across any view of a stock on the full screen as you scrolled down your lists and clicked from stock to stock. It was incredibly easy, and I guess I had no idea how much time is spent clicking to add that same basic information each and every time for a stock, every single day. That alone is enough to reason to not use this website anymore.
These are just the things that I noticed after a couple days of use with new view, and there are more small features that seem to have taken a step back. Overall, this is a very poorly put together charting software compared to the previous version. I would recommend going back or rather simply updating the new full screen view to include all the same features as before. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for offering this software for free, it has been a phenomenal resource in the past, and hopefully we can keep it that way.

You have had hundreds, if not thousands of complaints regarding your new stock charts. The new presentation can be tossed in the toilet without any loss. Is Verizon trying to destroy Yahoo?

I agree. This is horrible. Cannot save settings. Cannot look at the chart from the watchlist. Need to go back to the previous version. It also has issues but this is unbearable.

Personally I DONT like it and I really don't like the fact that you cant view your watch list at the same time anymore. Please revert back and I will return to using yahoo. Thanks.
