Old read messages keep refreshing as unread

Lately I've been having a hard time with some email. I've been sending photos from my phone to my email and they haven't been received.
I've also given my email address to some companies and their telling me it reads back as an envalid email address. What's going on?

I have installed uber app today.
I used it.
Now, i saw an email from uber.com that asked me to confirm my email, so i did it. But now i am afraid that it maight have been an attaker or hacker.
