I used basic. It was OK. Then two months ago, they changed Basic and it's horrible.
The screen jumps to another location/position as you're typing when you're replying to an email. Why does it do that? It's really annoying, Also, the font is way too small, and they removed the arrows that were added in a Fwd. email (I want them because I comment WITHIN email text sometimes and the arrows made it easier to differentiate between new and old text).
Also, you have to click "Edit" to be able to respond to an email WITHIN the text of the sender's email. Who's the genius that said, "Hey, let's add an unnecessary step when replying to an email"?
They are not listening to us here. But there is one way to make your voice heard. Either use Yahoo email less or not at all.

I agree! I had not checked my Spam folder in a long time because there was no indication there were unread messages. I was looking for something specific today and it finally dawned on me that I haven't had to empty Spam in a long time. I clicked on the folder and found over 2 pages of messages - I guess the rest had been deleted automatically. I routinely receive legitimate email in the Spam folder (not necessarily something I want to read, but still legit from a mailing list), so I need to see that there is unread mail there. I need to review these messages for anything which I want or need to read.

Why would anyone check Yahoo Mail under the new system when we can't see there are new emails.
QuickView always shows 999+ emails. So we tag Emails as UNREAD, or we actually don't open some email.
Show us a big number up to 999,999I hated that Yahoo Mail would not let Pidgin IM Instant Messenger see the emails or the count. That had a better interface and was far more useful than a Yahoo Email account.
Redo your interfaces. Require all software writers to wear kitchen mitts and vaselined glasses to code and use their own interface.
They would soon rewrite it for Accessibility Acts requirements. -

At least put the numbers back in so you don't have to open a folder to see if anything new is in it. ... I still hate the new version

I still prefer the legacy Yahoo mail layout where I can see the total number of unread emails. Right it's only showing 999+. I hate this.

Where there are more than 999 unread messages, the new classic mail just says "999+", as opposed to the actual number. This limitation is a downgrade in functionality that should be rectified to display the actual number of unread messages, like the previous version did.

The spam folder should display the Unread Message count like all other folders do, so I know whether it's empty or needs to be checked for mail that was incorrectly sent to Spam.

And add the numbers #mails, #unread

I agree. Seeing the total number of emails is the #1 reason I switch to basic. This 999+ stuff is nonsense. Please allow it to show us the *actual* number of unread emails in the inbox. If I work for three hours, deleting 1800 emails, I want to be able to track my progress. Thank you!

999 is not helpful and no number at all is not helpful, Tell me exactly how many are in each folder and make everything so it's not ugly as could be! What is wrong with you people? Why can't you leave well enough alone? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

This function is not working in both the new classic or new new versions.

This new interface sucks. 20+ year user getting ready to drop you like a hot rock. I've already quit reading biased Yahoo news. Would you like to lose a mail customer too?

I don't think you care about what people are saying to you! Obviously,
many people are unhappy with the new version. Why can't you have an option of old version vs. new version? So simple!!!
