Firing staff won't fix the problem, but I do agree that "send me notifications about every new answer to every question that I answered" was a monumentally silly idea.

Did they actually "fix" this issue by disabling email messages? The feature doesn't work.

I have the same problem and I hate it. I've tried putting it in Spam, but yahoo refuses to honor the spam request because it is part of yahoo. The only possible answer seems to be to go to Google email and just give up on yahoo. I guess that it's one more reason to leave.

I rec'd about 20 such, total, between Dec 31 and Jan 1. I hope the Jan 2 (?) fix works! (n.b., it started about a week or so ago, so, clearly, a change was made on Yahoo's end which affected this; a hack, methinkst, mayhaps?)

It looks like yahoo hired programmers from the last version of Windows. I turned off ALL notifications and still get the garbage emails about someone else responding to a question I answered, as if I care about other answers.

I too am having the same problem. It just started out of the blue about a week ago. Always have had notifications turned off!

I have always chosen not to receive emails from Answers---the settings still say that I have not changed preferences, but I am receiving unwanted emails! FIX IT!

I have tried turning off all notifications in Y!A but I can't get rid of e-mails saying "Someone else answered a question that i answered." Well, excuse me, but whoop-de-do for the other person. I might care if someone answered MY question, but who cares who answers other questions. I need to be able to silence that trash message.

I have chosen not to receive emails when people answer the same question as I have; I chose this setting years ago! So why is it that I am recently receiving these emails. FIX THE PROBLEM

I have the "There are new answers to all questions I answered " unchecked - yet received 33 emails this morning!!! Please fix this, it is very annoying.

I keep getting e-mails when someone else answers a question that I have asked. I dont want this (never had it until recently).
I went to prefrences and set it to send me e-mail under no circumstances.
I still get the e-mail notifications. How do I get these e-mails to stop. (I include "leaving Y!A" as a viable way to stop these emails)

I ONLY WANT THE BA ONES ....

I just received an email about people answering the same question that I've answered. I did not check any boxes that say that I want such a notification. Answers is also failing to control the attacking trolls here---even after receiving REAMS of evidence of personal attacks. Automation and lack of staff are to blame for both.

The instructions on how to stop it don't work. The box is unchecked and I still get them.

I want email notifications sent to my email when I get an answer. How hard is that?

Getting a bunch of useless emails about a question I answered just clutters up my email box. I am not going to answer any more questions
