There was a reason I got to 'level 5' in the Yahoo Answers only to leave and solely become a commenter in the Yahoo comments section, it's simply better. It's better because it is more wild and untamed than just answering specific questions, even if they do veer off topic every chance they get. Apparently not everyone could handle that wild and untamed nature, ironically it seems it was more Yahoo than the commenters who couldn't handle it. In the wild, trust is not easy. Having a 'Comments' section allows people to trust more when there are more people commenting and further elaborating on certain aspects and details of articles and events. For example; an article about an event in a foreign country is posted, people want to trust but don't know enough, then someone who has lived there or experienced that concurs with the article, people still aren't sure they can trust that person but look - there are 86 up votes and only 15 down votes. It can still be doubted, it is the internet, but it's a lot easier to trust the truth with 'Comments' enabled. Yahoo Answers or now this 'uservoice' are just another instance of people trying to pigeonhole others and smother out the wildheart that beats inside of humanity. I think if you're progressive you absolutely want 'Comments' enabled and you absolutely want it less censored. Of course, people with faux wildness probably thinks they are progressive and that removing comments is being progressive. Truth is, the only area that needed fixing was the multiple accounts/multiple usernames 'trollis' and not being able to drop the hammer down on them easier... in the wild, those people naturally get swatted like bugs for that behavior. Also, limiting comments to other comments in some way might be more instep with nature and cut down on incessant back & forth that only devolves... it's called 'Comments' not 'Discussions that only devolve the longer they go,' that's why most of my 30k+ comments were not comments to other comments.
