Hello. While we cannot speak about specific comments, policy interpretations, or actions action in relation to specific comments outside of with their original poster, we seek to apply the Yahoo Community Guidelines as evenly, fairly, and objectively as possible.

Whatever yahoo is paying for Openweb to operate and maintain the comment section on the articles, it is far FAR too much. Even if they are doing it for free. A CIS/programming student working with COBOL could do a better job than that garbage. Openweb is completely unresponsive to any notification of bugs, errors or complaints. Absolutely ZERO response or even acknowledgement. The AI/keyword scanner/whatever they are running on it is WORSE than ineffectual. Every last line of that source code should just be deleted and start over. If real individuals try to hold anything even remotely resembling a real conversation, the messages are consistently delayed, blocked and rejected. Yet all the bots and trolls that do nothing but spew one liner shitposts manage to flood the pages with their garbage. The company and their inept program should be removed. You are better off with NO comment section than one this poorly built, operated and maintained.

*sigh* Look, for the MILLIONTH time, do you even know how to recognize the significant difference between an article that was written and published by yahoo and one that was written by another source and then posted by that source to the news feeds? I am astounded that every single day, people are prattling on about how bad an article from yahoo is when the article ISNT EVEN FROM YAHOO! I mean the source of the articles is printed RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE PAGES. I guess since it is ABOVE the pictures and people are in such a rush to look at a picture, they cant be bothered with actually READING. I mean, i am a misanthrope, i will freely admit that. I just dont have a very high opinion of the average persons intelligence, but even i never thought people could be THAT serenely oblivious.

another person screaming "fake news" with no explanation eh? Well that is hardly original. Every time i hear someone prattling on about "fake news", i just assume they ran across something that contradicted what they wanted to believe and were just beside themselves with cognitive dissonance reaching epic proportions.
I still recall the late 70's and 80's. Back when i was first discovering the internet (no kids, the world wide web,,,www,,, is NOT the entirety of the internet. Not even close. Probably just about 5%) We had such high hopes. Here we had the building and organizing of a communication platform with the sum total of all the world knowledge at peoples fingertips! It was going to be fantastic. We were going to eradicate ignorance, everyone would have access to verified and supported information from qualified sources. We would collectively solve all the problems that have plagued mankind for centuries. Now just look at the mess people have made.
We were wrong. So very very wrong. We severely underestimate the level of tenacity that the standard individual would cling to ignorance with. Petulant, willful, belligerent, deliberate ignorance.

Alright people, Browser Function 101-an introduction to the function and operation of internet browsers. Take out your pencils and take notes. This will be on the test.
to the right of articles on your home page, you will see an elipsis, it's 3 dots, either vertical or horizontal depending on your own screen settings. I think vertical is the default. Anyway, click on that, a menu should appear that says "show less from(whatever publisher it is), click on that and it SHOULD return less. Some will still show up from them, but it should be less.
Now, if you happen to open one of the articles for any reason. By accident, to take a quick peek at the picture or to scroll straight to the bottom to leave a comment about how much you hate the article, your browser will interpret it as interest in that article and start showing you MORE similar articles. That is just the way it works.

yahoo doesnt have a comment section. The comment section you are talking about is from Openweb. Completely different company. Yes, its garbage, and letting them know about it doesnt do any good. Ive tried, they just ignore you. They do have both a facebook and a twitter account if you want to try, but its a waste of time.
Go to the bottom of any comment section or to the bottom of the email notifications if you get them, click on their name (its an imbedded link) then when their corporate page opens, you will see the twitter, facebook, and a couple other platforms icons at the bottom of the page that will take you to their media accounts. There is no way to contact anyone on their corporate page. Dont expect anything from them, you will just be disappointed.

on your home page, to the right of each article you should see an elipsis. That is the 3 little dots in a row like (...) Click on that, a menu should appear that says "show less from (whatever source it is). Click on that and your home page will have less from that particular source. As far as limiting the type of article/ subject matter, there is no way to do that other than cookies changing browsing patterns and history. Every time you open a page for any reason, your browser, no matter which one it is, notes it and then begins to return more similar articles.

If you are talking about the little comment sections at the bottom of the articles, yahoo doesnt control that. It is a different company called "Openweb". They wrote, host and maintain the comment sections. Yes, its just a garbage program. It's so bad a first year programming student could do a better job with COBOL. Contacting them about it is a waste of time too. they dont answer. I have tried emails and direct messages to them in the past. They just ignore it. Whatever yahoo is paying them to host and maintain the section is FAR too much, even if yahoo managed to get it done for free. They will block an actual conversation between two real people, but still allow millions of foreign trolls and bots to do nothing but shitpost and flood the pages. I dont even bother with it anymore. You cant actually discuss anything so it's just worthless. Anyway, just letting you know you were complaining in the wrong place. You could try telling Openweb about it, they have both facebook and twitter pages, but it most likely wont do any good.

I think what you are talking about is the comment section at the bottom of articles. If that is it, yahoo doesnt do the comments. That section is a routine from a company called "Openweb". They wrote it, run it and control it. Yes, it is trash. It's a terrible piece of programming and whatever yahoo is paying them to maintain it is FAR too much, even if yahoo is getting it for free.
As far as the problem of locating your post, there is a convoluted way to find it without too much searching. Try this:
In your email, click on the respond link
when the page opens, click on the "show more comments" link and let a longer page load
Once that opens, scroll back up to the top of the comment section where your own profile picture appears
To the right of that, you will see a little icon that shows notifications
That also has the name of the person responding to you and a little of your post.
You then can scroll through those to find the particular one you are looking for.
From what i have seen, they are in no particular order so its a pain to find them sometimes but not as bad as scrolling through the comments themselves.
Click on the one you are looking for and it SHOULD load right up. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.
And be CERTAIN to click the "show more comments" before you do the search through the notifications on the section itself. Otherwise it messes up and you have to close the whole window and start over.
Truth is, that comment section has gotten to be such utter garbage that i dont even bother with it anymore. Its 90% foreign trolls and bots doing nothing but shitposting.
Good luck with it, Hope it helps.

yet again, another comment left was determined "against community standards" when it didnt violate ANY of your supposed "community standards" Not one. It wasnt even a comment directed at anyone other than the referees of the nfl, which is what you article was about. Maybe it was because i was critical of the exact same group that the article was criticizing? You can take your comment sections and shove it. I am done with this ****. I can also find another search engine and news source. Yahoo definitely isnt the only game in town.

the surest way to lose readers and you advertising dollars is to keep putting the stupid video pop-outs on every page. open a page, scroll down to read and the **** video pops out, close it and scroll another paragraph and the **** thing pops out again. If i wanted to see the video then i wouldnt have closed it in the first place. I am fast getting to the point that on any search or browse, if the article is from yahoo then i just skip it.

perhaps you should rethink your exposure to the internet in particular and society in general.
