An error occurred while saving the comment Michael R. Wheeler supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Michael R. Wheeler commentedThis feature had been fixed about two months ago (i.e., approximately 3/1/2021), and was working just fine, UNTIL the beginning of this month (i.e., 5/1/2021). Now the Weather Module of My Yahoo defaults to "Clackamas, OR", not where the "Detect My Location" points to. It must be corrected manually upon each refresh. I wonder if anyone is keeping track of the changes that are being made to the Yahoo software, and whether anyone on that team is reading any of these comments. It is baffling to think that this can not be corrected, permanently!
An error occurred while saving the comment Michael R. Wheeler commentedYahoo/Oath technicians have been tinkering with their new weather provider and modules for two years, and still cannot get things right! The local weather for me defaults to somewhere in another county, all of the saved places do not display any weather until they are individually opened, and if I adjust the local weather location by using "Detect my location", it does not stick, and must be reset every time the My Yahoo page is refreshed! Absurd! The staff's attention to detail (and hundreds of related comments) is clearly not being reviewed by supervisors responsible for quality control of the Yahoo products. Maybe someday... But how many users will remain?
An error occurred while saving the comment Michael R. Wheeler commentedThis Yahoo Weather behavior began 11/23 or 11/24/2018, and continued through that weekend. I was able to make changes using the "Detect My Location" pop-up dialogue box, but they didn't take effect until Monday, 11/26/2018, presumably when the Yahoo/Oath staff went back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The corrections worked only for a day, then returned to the erroneous behavior of detecting my location far from here.
The Yahoo Weather and profile settings no longer include the ability to list all of the locations that I monitor, and to customize that list. Poor design change, and frustrating!
I use the Yahoo Weather that is in My Yahoo, and have for years. It is unfortunate that changes have reduced its usefulness, and accuracy. I hope Yahoo staff will fix this omission, soon.

Once again, Yahoo/Weather Channel HAD FIXED this feature a while ago (May, 2021), and IT WORKED FINE! Then about a week ago, it is back to displaying some far-away location as the default, daily, and we, as user, MUST DETECT MY LOCATION upon each restart of My Yahoo! The Weather Module seems to reset itself, and does not 'listen' to Windows 10 Settings, which is where the 'Detect My Location' is captured for ALL APPS! Hey, Oath/Yahoo/Weather Channel technicians, YOU FIXED THIS ONCE, please look at your notes, and FIX IT AGAIN! You can do this!
