    Hey, Kathy! Since Yahoo went to the "new & improved," a few years, your (1) above is normal.
    - - You CAN use the new email address if you're trying to assign it to a list. However, if you refresh that entire webpage, the address won't appear in the list for a few days. Insanity.
    - - Next: After you've entered an address into your contacts, you cannot type that last name in your "to" field and expect to see the address as an option. That usually takes several days. It's head-shaking.
    - - If enter a new contact, and then manually search through your 100s or 1000s of contacts, you will see it! Yes, it's right there.
    -- But wait! If you manually type in the address, then press enter or tab, then put your curser over the address, you'll see all the information that's in your contacts that you typed in a few minutes earlier. WHAT????

    Makes absolutely no sense.

    And Yahoo's response......and just spit out my drink. They have done ZERO to correct any of these issues since the "new & improved" came out. I have actually told Yahoo about these issues about once a year for probably 5 years. They don't care. They will even tell you, "Alphabetizing your lists is impossible." I have over 170 lists. And they are in a random order. My goodness.

    WE'VE BEEN BEGGING for this for about 5 years. Our lists in the previous address book were alphabetized w/o issue. But the new/improved address book doesn't have this option. It's insane. I've had customer service tell me in an online chat......I was like WHAT??? IMPOSSIBLE??? I like your idea of self-sorting.....that would be better than the nothing we have presently.

    Yahoo RUINED contacts when they no longer allowed us to use a window, like we can now with the calendar.
    - - Back then, we could touch a contact, and see what lists it belonged to. No longer.
    - - Back then our lists were in alphab order. No longer.
    - - Back then we could search for an contact and get more than 6 options. No longer. I have over 15,000 contacts. How does SIX options help me? Insanity..

    When will companies learn that changes your customers DON'T want isn't good?? "Hope and change" hasn't been said since Obama's first year in office.....except at Yahoo.

    Now, how about alphabetizing our lists? That would be AWESOWE! please, I beg you!

    And when we search for a name in our contacts, how about give us more than 6 options. If I have 15 Jessicas, why do I only see 6?

    Agree. that's an insane change. It's been going on for a few years on my account, and I just scratch my head. Calendar reminders in sent email folder? WHAT????

    Got to love Yahoo Mail Team's answer below. I've been telling them for 10-15 years that when I search for something in, for example, "inbox," I will get results from every folder. Why even offer us the opportunity to restrict our search, if the technicians can't create the script to follow our instructions?? Just don't understand that there are so many flaws in our email, that Yahoo refuses to fix/address.

    If you refresh your page, functionality will return to normal.

    Yeah, it's a pain in the butt, but it's better than copy/pasting a "return," which is what I was doing for a while.

    I used Yahoo. Upgraded as soon as I could. But it went from like $19.99/year to 29.99/year to now $60/year. But it's a small price to pay to keep all my documents, pictures, etc. from 1998 to present. I can see the email from when my wife & I were dating. Pretty cool. Sorry, buddy, very few thing can you expect a company to give you for free. They are the money making business, just like I am.

    These comments are 6 months old; yet, I have never seen a "subscriptions" folder. Is it near the top? or in alpha order? Huh.

    WHOA! How did you find that?
    I've been using Yahoo email since 1995 and Windows for about as long, and never knew this. What else is available?!?!?!
