Stop autosetting the order answers are listed in!
Could you stop switching the selected order of answers? In the past, you've switched it from "Oldest" to "Highest rated" and whenever you tried to change it back to oldest it'd still start on "Highest rated" when you opened the next question. Recently, you switched it from "Highest rated" (which I was just starting to get used to) to "Relevance" which is the worst possible order selection! WHY would you do this?
Recode so that whatever order you pick will be the default order no matter which page you go to!

A survey reveals that the majority of Y!A users dislike the new interface and want all or part of the old one back
A survey reveals that the majority of Y!A users dislike the new interface and want all or part of the old one back.
This is the survey link: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20141002133256AA9eORN
It emerged that the main culprits (and the ones worthy of prioritary consideration) are:
- Numbered navigation replaced with "infinite scrolling".
- Not being able to choose a category before submitting a question.
- Cartoon avatars replace by "white on gray" avatars.
- Being sent to the beginning of the list of questions after submitting an answer.I'd like to know if you already made a research and if yes why…

It would be nice to be able to get a list of questions where I've left comments in a similar way to the list provided of answers

The Problems with Yahoo Answers Today
1. Allowing all level 7's to change any question into any category is nonsensical and is encouraging abuse on the site
2. There is not enough action on spamming and trolling on Yahoo Answers. The entire site is now a trolling playground.
3. Not allowing users to delete any of their content whenever they want is unreasonable.
4. The anonymous feature is only encouraging further trolling
5. Not allowing users to choose their category before posting is not user-friendly or efficient whatsoever. Its causing a lot of questions to be posted in incorrect categories
6. Too many questions not posting…

Certain questions not posting
For what its worth, some of my questions will not post. I know this is due to automatic algorithms in the system, but those algorithms need to be adjusted.
I asked a question about being yourself and it is not appearing in the live stream of recent questions.
This is probably a waste of time even posting this, as the Yahoo Answers Team will ignore this post too, along with anything else that is posted here. I honestly don't even see what the point of the suggestion board is anymore. It serves no purpose.

why are Trolls allowed to post anonymously?
the 'Post as Anonymous' Feature is nothing but Troll bait... it allows people to post question with no way of know who they are or how to stop them...
It's bad enough "Block" doesn't apply the 'warning label any more, but now any one can hide behind that little spy mask and ask The Dumbest, or most offensive question; and it stays up until Admin Reacts47th ranked -
why cant i look at a question, and then just go back to the same positon on the list
when I click on a question, look at it, then go back to the question list. I am back a the beginning , and I have to scroll down to find where I was before I clicked on the question.

The y-team needs to step up and select a best answer for when the asker does not
Since yahoo took the ability of the yahoo answers user to vote best answer, there are now tons of questions now that have no best answer picked.
I feel since yahoo took our ability to vote and close a question it should be on the y-team to choose a best answer, say after 2 weeks when the question asker does not.
People should be rewarded when taking the time to answer someones question.
Step up y-team - YOU PICK BEST ANSWER - If the yahoo answers user won't....
Thx

Abortion subcategory in Pregnancy & Parenting.
There isn't a 'safe' place for someone to ask about their option of abortion over adoption or birth. This subcategory can compact many questions for easy review for those who are exploring their options, while avoiding some of the hateful and sometimes abusive prolife comments. This subcategory will be strictly about abortion, all questions dealing with the process, cost, clinic locations, etc., will be easier to find and answer, helping many women and men.

NEW SPAM BATTLE THREAD
This is the replacement for the Suggestion Board Spam Battle Thread, which is now closed (together with the whole SB). There is a long history of new Battle Threads. In the big Malware War of 2008 we had at least 12 of them.
Most of you know what to do, so please feel free. I'll put instructions for new arrivals when I find a copy of the old one to copy it from. Sorry, dear friends, I am just as tired as all of you are.

We should be able to delete our own questions.
I stand against the removal of the deleting feature. We have every right to delete questions we have asked. Sometimes we may ask too personal questions that we plan on deleting right after receiving answers. Now we have to lean on the hope that it will be reported for it to get deleted.

Can you remove the "edit answer jump"?
If I make a spelling error in my answer and try to edit it, as soon as I type one letter, my view jumps to the top of the question.
Please make it so that it doesn't do that303rd ranked -
Why can we not see on our own profile what we have top contributor badges in?r
Makes no sense that I have to log out to see what my top contributor badges are.

Prevent askers from submitting an answer to their question
On many occasions I see questions where the asker has added some extra detail, but not by updating/editing their question. Instead, the asker has submitted an answer to the question to add the additional information.
There are two problems with this:
1) It is not immediately obvious that the extra detail has come from the same person that asked the question.
2) As the answers are displayed in different orders depending upon when they were submitted and what thumbs up and thumbs down they have received, the extra information can appear completely out of context.
I propose that Yahoo modify…

When you win the appeal of a deleted question..
That appealed question should go to the top of the list of the category in which you posted the question. It should be re-posted as a "new" question so you can get a fair shake on people seeing your question in order to get some answers.
The current way if you win an appeal it shows up on the same day and time as your original posted it. NO ONE WILL SEE IT.
SEND APPEALED QUESTIONS TO THE TOP OF THE LIST !!! SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THEM TO ANSWER!!
Thx.

Please remove deleted questions from all lists.
Pretty self explanatory.
Deleted questions in lists serve no purpose. They are a constant source of annoyance.
Please remove deleted questions from all lists.

Yahoo Answers needs to bring back country-specific filters - Why did they remove it?
ALL English-speaking questions are now lumped together, which is a major inconvenience for those of us who are using categories that tend to be country-specific such as Politics, Law & Ethics, Law Enforcement & Police, Current Events, and so many others.
Not only has Yahoo removed the filter, but they removed the individual flags that used to be under people's questions when they asked a question which clearly denoted which Yahoo site they were using. Why?
Now we have so many well-meaning people giving completely irrelevant and unhelpful answers on certain topics such as law because they're from another country.

Thank-you for starting to give responses on this board.
I know we mostly come here to complain about things that aren't to our liking (that's the nature of a Suggestion forum), and truth be told, Yahoo has made some really incomprehensible decisions over the last year, especially with Answers. However, I have noticed that lately there is finally some evidence that someone actually reads what is posted here and gives some thought to at least some of the suggestions. I want to let you know that I appreciate this change.

Spam Battle Thread cannot be accessed!
The SBT is not showing up in the lists.
I found it by searching for it, but when I click on it, it takes me to the "Hot" ideas list.
Has the thread been deleted or temporarily made unavailable?
