Appeals Procee Needs Reviewing

YA is finally going all the way down the drain. Long time users are getting violations for good direct answers and now the appeal people are telling them good direct answers they have been giving for years are indeed violations of the rules. Yahoo, the last thing to bring the death of this site is to push your long time users out the door.

Agreed. We’re working on a new moderation system, including appeals.

My account was falsely reported and suspended. Thanks for not caring. Thanks for sending me the standard rejection email everyone gets, without ever looking at the specific content that was reported.

I'll thank you again this time tomorrow by deleting my "suspended" account, so you can't claim it for ad revenue. Pathetic.

And no, I don't care if you merge this suggestion with an existing suggestion. Blow me. Ten years I've created content for you for free.

Don't mess with YA, it's the only place you can get any help...........
This new moderation system, who are you seeking to protect, I wonder??

  • [Deleted User] commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

My account is "suspended". Understand that Yahoo! does not delete accounts, because a suspended account is STILL AN ACCOUNT! Even if you can never again use it, they can claim it as an active account when charging for advertising! If Yahoo! improperly "suspended" your account, delete it yourself on your way out the door.

Personally, I have long held that anonymity on Answers needs to end, including anonymous reporting. The targeted reporting and stalking will only end when the anonymity of it ends.

  • Not anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Yahoo has never responded quickly to anything on these user boards.
Maybe this will be a first; don't hold your breath.

This individual, who posts anonymously, brags daily about his ability to delete Q&As. He claims to be a former Yahoo! employee. And of course, any reports of his answers fall on deaf (actually non-existent) ears.

I suggest that your appeals process be something more than cursory. Maybe a human could actually investigate complaints of false reporting?

I've had this account for so long that I really cannot delete it, but I would if I could, because of the disrespect you show long-time users. (I did delete three other Answers accounts.)

I've been on Answers for 10+ years, and if I participate again, it will be on this account--no other.

Now my account has been suspended and no one will tell me why. The appeal system does not work. Am I suspended for publicly airing problems with the Answers program? The appeal system does not work.

Last year I answered several "yes or not" questions with a yes or no, a complaint was filed against me. When I appealed, they said my "yes and no" answers violated community standards. Several months and a dozen interactions later, some one "discovered" what was going on and most of my answers and points were returned. It appears it is happening again. I have a complaint filed against me, but when I, and maybe others, bring up the appeal form, the stylized "letter/number" box at the bottom is not there so the complaint does not go through. You may need to do some in house cleaning again.

This issue is still not working. I have answers reported, such as, "Cool Story, Bro", which gets reported. I try to appeal but there are bugs and errors. The Political section really needs to be monitored.

I posted this comment and it was censored by Yahoo. There is absolutely NO PROFANITY in this comment: 'I would much rather have a mother bare her chest to feed her infant in public than hear a hungry baby screaming its head off in a restaurant and ruining my peace and quiet. Grow up people.' There is NO violation of your community rules. I would like an explanation please, and NOT some canned response. Thank you.

Its ridiculous. All day. Every few minutes. Its wrong. I get no emails just points gone. How can I appeal if you send me nothing? All I see is my points going.

shouldn't a person have the right to know why his account was put on suspension, not the usual violation of guide lines? Tell the person what the violation was. If it was for abuse, or being rude then a lot of others should be suspended too.

I stopped using YA about 2 years ago because the trolls and spammers had free reign and so much was not working.

I have a look back every now and then - and might return if the site is fixed.

But reading this thread, it looks like it has continued to get worse and worse.

I posted this, but didn't get any response that it would appear shortly.
I replied to a question. I later get an email that it was reported. I then clicked on the appeal link. I then get the stupid message that my account didn't submit the question. What the heck? Obviously it didn't, I was answering a question. It's also the first time I've had that, in the appealing.
The question was what sign is the most annoying. I said that I don't regard any as, and showed links to videos of what would be.
I don't even know why I bother about Yahoo Answers.

When someone reports an answer, why not review the answer before just deleting it? That way time can be saved for everyone, instead of wasting time with an appeal. It's a case of skipping that step. Many times it is just someone abusing the system, by reporting.
Can also then tell the person exactly why it was a violation, if it was. That's saving time again for everyone.

How do I contact the Yahoo president or corporate office re: a Terrible yahoo department? I have been currently suspended from using Yahoo Answers site, but they have Never told me what I did wrong. I have contacted the appeal department at least 20 times, in different ways, and they just send me a generic form letter. It appears They are just playing mind games with people. So I wanted to contact the Yahoo President or corporate office to let them know the people in this yahoo answers department are not doing their job at all. HELP. What can I do?

At the very least the notification that an account has been suspended because inappropriate content was posted should quote or refer to the specific content that violated the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

My account was suspended years ago due to (supposedly) posting inappropriate content. I appealed and my appeal was denied with the same stock answer that I had posted inappropriate content. I have requested reinstatement numerous times over the years and every time have received the same stock answer, but no one at Yahoo! has been able or willing to tell me exactly what I posted that violated anything.

Having one's account suspended at Yahoo! bears a disturbing similarity to being accused of witchcraft in the late 1600's.

Well, it appears I've been permanently banned, Though I still contest the findings, there is no way of validating suspension legitimacy, and rebut the report or violation, which leaves me to other actions with Verizon / Oath: and Yahoo, good luck:
