Appeals Procee Needs Reviewing

YA is finally going all the way down the drain. Long time users are getting violations for good direct answers and now the appeal people are telling them good direct answers they have been giving for years are indeed violations of the rules. Yahoo, the last thing to bring the death of this site is to push your long time users out the door.

shouldn't a person have the right to know why his account was put on suspension, not the usual violation of guide lines? Tell the person what the violation was. If it was for abuse, or being rude then a lot of others should be suspended too.

I stopped using YA about 2 years ago because the trolls and spammers had free reign and so much was not working.

I have a look back every now and then - and might return if the site is fixed.

But reading this thread, it looks like it has continued to get worse and worse.

I posted this, but didn't get any response that it would appear shortly.
I replied to a question. I later get an email that it was reported. I then clicked on the appeal link. I then get the stupid message that my account didn't submit the question. What the heck? Obviously it didn't, I was answering a question. It's also the first time I've had that, in the appealing.
The question was what sign is the most annoying. I said that I don't regard any as, and showed links to videos of what would be.
I don't even know why I bother about Yahoo Answers.

When someone reports an answer, why not review the answer before just deleting it? That way time can be saved for everyone, instead of wasting time with an appeal. It's a case of skipping that step. Many times it is just someone abusing the system, by reporting.
Can also then tell the person exactly why it was a violation, if it was. That's saving time again for everyone.

How do I contact the Yahoo president or corporate office re: a Terrible yahoo department? I have been currently suspended from using Yahoo Answers site, but they have Never told me what I did wrong. I have contacted the appeal department at least 20 times, in different ways, and they just send me a generic form letter. It appears They are just playing mind games with people. So I wanted to contact the Yahoo President or corporate office to let them know the people in this yahoo answers department are not doing their job at all. HELP. What can I do?

At the very least the notification that an account has been suspended because inappropriate content was posted should quote or refer to the specific content that violated the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

My account was suspended years ago due to (supposedly) posting inappropriate content. I appealed and my appeal was denied with the same stock answer that I had posted inappropriate content. I have requested reinstatement numerous times over the years and every time have received the same stock answer, but no one at Yahoo! has been able or willing to tell me exactly what I posted that violated anything.

Having one's account suspended at Yahoo! bears a disturbing similarity to being accused of witchcraft in the late 1600's.

Well, it appears I've been permanently banned, Though I still contest the findings, there is no way of validating suspension legitimacy, and rebut the report or violation, which leaves me to other actions with Verizon / Oath: and Yahoo, good luck:

"overhauled in the medium term." ? ( why would you ban users for not doing wrong dynamically..)

Still suspect wrong doing by someone in community with Yahoo services access , created block of use, How can one in the same be allowed to override network services and moderate and withhold rights, meanwhile the loop in appeal is to post the text from report in order to appeal, but there was no report to add context for appealing ban, does not make sense, that part of specialist customer care is moot to ability to comply,

ANd while you guys are at it fix the notification system too....turn it back on!

  • ☥♡☮ commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Correct, and i your case the timeline implies deliberate Yahoo community hacking services to bump users offline , without them being able to appeal to point that several reports concludes in freezing account or service of Yahoo Answers

the Help has Appeal too from "Specialist " ( new) in help contact, but only replies as bot mail notice and denial,

  • ☥♡☮ commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Agree, also just suspended on hold, whilst in the middle of posting and answer, only to find Answers services was blocked,
Suspect foul play on Yahoo side or go between users hack and trolling system , was frozen years ago falsely , but this time it appears unattainable, the internal Appeal tool does not link or work, and the generic appeal in Help, resolves vacant feedback, plus there is no Notice of report that caused blocked services,
the only way to get back services is through legal services via Verizon, and that costs too much for most, some have taken previous Yahoo to courting and won or resolved,
but still assumption is deliberate freeze blocking for some other cause or reason not applicable to appeals,

To prevent abuse of the system by multiple people who simply disagree with or dislike an answer for personal reasons, and not because it actually violates any rules. I have had this happen to me a couple of times already.

  • TheMikel commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

My account has been "suspended" for a LONG TIME, without giving a real Reason other than the vague "Terms of Use" or maybe it was "Community Standards".
If the account actually did commit a "crime" why is Yahoo! unable to list specifics so they might not be repeated, IF there is a chance of establishing use.
It would be hard to appeal, if it were allowed, when not knowing the Crime.

The Alleged "Appeal" does nothing more than direct to "Terms of Use" page. With no appeal permitted.

The “reporting” system is broken, virtually all my deleted questions have been reported for political reasons. Recently, I had a question removed and I was not informed. YA is going to have to apply some intelligence to this, if you want to regain relevance.

  • Rover commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

You need to speak more clearly here.

If your post didn't violate the guidelines and still got deleted, you are supposed to APPEAL

  • Starry commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

The link that was emailed to me is this:http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/answer/appeal;_ylc=X3oDMTE3MTFrZmliBF9TAzIxMTU1MTk2OTcEc2VjA3JlcG9ydGl0BHNsawNhcHBlYWxfYQ--?qid=20180524121545AAnjZW8&kid=2yFSkim8aa
That took me to a page that said I was not in the same account as the question was made from. Baloney! I can Answer only from this account.
Not the first time this has happened, and last time no solution came from the support team even though they investigated for weeks. Now what?

  • Jim Roberts commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

The problem seems to arise when you've answered a question that has subsequently been deleted. You get the usual violation notice but when you hit the appeal button you get a message that the QUESTION is not from your account.
