The reason you aren't on the same playing field as other popular sites (which I don't even need to mention here, everyone reading this knows what sites I am talking about) is because for every legitimate news article, there is a rubbish advertisement that is made to look like a news article to reel people in, which pushes the user onto SPAM websites and affiliates thereafter are not under the control of Yahoo! so you don't feel you need to do anything about it. yet people get spammed in their emails with advertisementsclearly the solution to your problem to earn revanue per year is to put adverisements on the left and right sides of the main website
either for games, books, tv shows, movies, random house hold productslots of companies need their game or book known about yet you are losing revanue by having empty space
an example.. blizzard entertainment has a movie coming out about warcraft yet you could be advertising their movie on the sides of your website

You give us an option to say what ads we find offensive. I indicate which ones I don't like and you ignore me and carry on with the same ads. DON'T GIVE PEOPLE AN OPTION TO VOTE ON THE ADS AND THEN KEEP POSTING THEM. IT JUST ANNOYS US AND DRIVES US TO OTHER SITES WHO ACTUALLY CARE WHAT WE THINK.
