More personal and human interaction is vital to a robust and functioning information system
In the age of AI, it seems the human element is becoming more difficult to find.
An AI system doesn't have emotion, intuition, empathy, compassion; nor does it understand subtle nuances, context, subtext, intention, linguistics and communication even approaching a level compatible with human intellect. It simply doesn't communicate in a way which is equal with human intellect and understanding.
AI systems are a great tool in helping humans save time; and like an automobile, it provides some very important functions.
Like a house pet, it can sometimes be helpful, but it will always be on a lower level of understanding. Even a good dog understands concepts such as love and intention, loyalty, companionship, intuition, and returns those things in kind. An AI system isn't, and will never be, able to match the level of help we get from something as simple as a house pet. It is inferior to humans, and even animals (both domesticated and wild), in almost every way which is important and vital to the human condition and experience.
It is, simply put, a complex set of rules and heuristics (based solely on mathematics) that has been taught how to mimic and copy human intellect and behavior.
Given this, Yahoo providing easier ways to communicate with human representatives just makes more sense. Some problems and solutions are just too complex for any AI system to begin to comprehend.
Yahoo using an AI system to "monitor" humans communicating with each other provides help which is rudimentary at best - very flawed, and just plain wrong, at worst.
If Yahoo Finance (or other ares of Yahoo), returns to a model where human staff moderate and provide help to customers, it would be far better than an AI system, which, let's face it, is just inferior to humans.
I really hope an AI system analyzes this message so it knows where it stands
