Make the two-step verification OPTIONAL ONLY
When traveling abroad, I used my brother's computer to access Yahoo Mail like I've always done for years, and this time it wanted to send me a security code to my telephone. Problem is, it cost me $5 in roaming. And what if I had no access to my phone? Dead battery, no network, left phone elsewhere, etc,, many issues can prevent us from having access to our phone at a precise moment. Yahoo says that another option is a secondary email address..., but aside from the fact that that other provider could request the same, why should I be periodically monitoring another email (lest it gets closed) just for this purpose?
Yahoo Customer Service refused to consider changing this mandatory feature and to send my concern to a higher authority. For those of us who depend on our Yahoo email, this is a critical concern. I need access to my email. While I appreciate Yahoo watching over our security, such a feature should be OPTIONAL.
I now want to change providers after 15 years.
