Altering route
The old way of altering a route by clicking and dragging and the updated route would go the way you intended was great. Now you click and drag and it takes you out the way you want to go but it is **** bent on doubling back and going back onto the route it originally selected for you. Example, I want to go to 901 South Main Street, High Point, NC from Asheboro, NC via "The Mountain." I know the route across the mountain but did not know if I turn right or left when I come out in Archdale and I also wanted to know the total driving time so that I can plan on what time to leave my home. The way your maps are doubling back will not allow me to do this. "The Mountain" is Sunset Avenue across the interstate, down Old Lexington Rd, Turn right onto Caraway Mountain Rd, continue through where Caraway Mountain Rd turns into Flint Hill Rd, continue through where that turns into Hillsville Rd and that turns into Archdale Rd. I should be able to do this with Yahoo maps instead of having to sign into Google Maps to get the route I choose and a total driving time.

I am having the same difficulty trying to alter the route to the one I actually take. I am trying to get the actual mileage. After I have dragged to the correct route, I cannot get it to remove the original route. I am totally frustrated with this map program!

I agree. I just tried to make a motorcycle route via back roads and gave up in 3 minutes. Yahoo Maps sucks. Sad to here that it was better before. I'm recently started avoiding the New Google Maps. I absolutely loved Classic Google Maps.
