I am perplexed why isolated family tragedy’s are made news Headlines over headlines about global warming and issues that I believe are of paramount importance.

I feel that these headlines serve to distract when in fact people need to read news that is indeed more substantial and more pressing.

Simply reporting on a current weather storm, while also informative and important, does not require efforts and investigative methods that other reputable stories will.

Reporting on an isolated murder incident, while also mildly interesting, especially when the offender is already in custody, does not, in my opinion need to be front page news. Shock and awe sells news sure. But real reporting and news worthy stories come by hard work and dedication to finding out the facts and reporting those facts despite that the public may not like those truths.
