Vice President Vance met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and attended Pope Leo XIV’s inaugural mass over the weekend, and joined the Pope for a private audience the next morning. The Vice President also sat down for an interview with Ross Douthat of the New York Times and addressed the Naval Academy’s Class of 2025.
First Lady Melania Trump celebrated the Take it Down Act being signed into law by President Trump, welcomed children to the White House for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, and shared the progress of BE BEST at the Senate Spouses Luncheon.

CLAIM: In the press briefing room, Alcindor asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, “What protocols are in place when there's unsubstantiated information being put out for the world and world leaders?” She was referring to the video played by President Trump with the South African president addressing the genocide of White farmers in his country.
FACT: Karoline responded, “What's unsubstantiated about the video? The video shows crosses that represent the dead bodies of people who were racially persecuted by their government. In fact, The Associated Press, of all places, has a picture of that very monument in the caption from The Associated Press is ‘Each cross marks a white farmer who has been killed in a farm murder.’"
