Why did Yahoo recently suggest that Edmonton is experiencing an economical boom?

In 2007, the media suggested there was boom in Alberta, and people flocked to Alberta from all over Canada. However, the result was a doubling of rent rates for Albertans that have never gone down. As well, most of the people who came to Alberta in 2007 to find a job incurred significant financial losses and had to move back to their own province.

The suggestion of a boom in Alberta was a lie in 2007, and is even a bigger lie in 2015, now that the oil prices have been slashed in half.
