How do I make changes to stock quantities in portfolio?

My issue: the portfolio lettered abbreviations ( e.g. VTABX) are not recognized when I try to add to my holdings. These holdings are in Vanguard Index funds. The fund abbreviations were recognized when I first set up my portfolio. I believe I am following correct procedure to "edit" and then add the number of shares.
