Years ago I worked at Golden Circle Cannery. 1979 to 1989. There would have been close to 3000 people work ther back then. No because of sell off and poor management and imports they a nearly at the end. Doors will close. Maybe we should look at what they can do here to save and in crease employment . Years ago there had mechanics, fitters painter and sparkies , they did so many apprentice back then so many opportunities back then. Fork list trained and they help others to get truck license , Was a great place back then. They need to do some thing and bring it back to help people like they help 1000 of people back in the day. I know people who got there tickets there's and the moved on to better things. So sad to see it close. The news tonight had a story on people heading back over the boarder for no jobs and housing. Well maybe save GCC and bring it back to it glory days and bring people back over the boarder and let's grow Qlds again.
