Stop notifying users when they have a flash blocker turned on. Just load the flash and let the user choose whether to enable it.
Like a lot of people, I use a flash blocker extension in my browser. The flash blocker stops flash from loading, but gives me the option of clicking on the flash element in the page and enabling it. On Yahoo! when I try to view a video, instead of just loading the flash and allowing my flash blocker to give me the option of enabling it, Yahoo! informs me that I have a flash blocker. The thing is, I know I have a flash blocker and don't need to be told. All I want the page to do is load the flash like normal. My flash blocker will block it and give me the option of enabling it. The notification forces me to turn the flash blocker off, instead of allowing me to use it to selectively enable flash like normal on most all other sites. It seems like Yahoo! is going to lengths to inform the user here where it actually makes for a worse user experience.
